That pretty much says all you need to say.

I'm really getting on the Hafley bandwagon. I don't recall a Packer D looking that dominant for decades. We'll see if it continues against better teams, but things are looking good.

Teams switch between them a lot more now. I think the players you have and the offenses you face matter more than the front.
Also, coaching matters. Hafley may or may not be an above average DC, but he's already shown he's better than Barry.

They went NASCAR on the Titans, Hafley also sent SIX after Levis on 3rd and long - more than once. Barry would almost never do that. I bet he sent six on a miniscule fraction of snaps.
When it's 3rd down and a passing situation, I'd rather go after the QB and make them rush their throw than sit back, let the QB complete a pass, and then rally to the tackle.
Teams are less afraid to go for it on 4th down, stopping them 2 yards short on 3rd down isn't an automatic change of possession anymore.

Also - having actual safeties who are better than special teams guys makes a big difference. McKinney is worth the contract so far. Bullard and Williams have been pretty solid as rookies.

And there's his nickname from now on. I've been struggling with a few of the names on this year's roster but thanks to you, and because you obviously know, because you're obviously The Shadow, I can now yell something unexpected and funny at the TV whenever he makes a play.

    I can hear it now:

    "PINEAPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!!!!"

Joe Barry made me miss Mike Pettine. A lot. There's no reason the dude should be a DC, let alone OUR DC.

When's the last time we had eight minutes of defensive highlights?

This defense is only going to get better. We got some serious horses, y'all. At every level of the defense.

LVN's backside pursuit and TFL was kick ass.

Anyone wanting Barry back is barking mad.

He was a bad hire and I don't think many liked it from the start. The results were...not good.
I think if an offense is dictating things on their terms only, and you are passively reacting, you're just going to get dogwalked down the field all day.

Digging around, it looks like Barry's D went 22nd in 2021, and 20th in 2022 in DVOA... so 2022 was his best year in DVOA. They also ranked below average in EPA/play.
The defense was helped by the offense playing at a very slow rate - Rodgers liked to milk the clock down to 0 and MLF doesn't operate a lot of no-huddle.

I'd also like to remind you of these 2023 gems:

Getting absolutely run over by ATL in Game 2
The Baker Mayfield perfect game at Lambeau
    Tommy Cutlets
A terrible Panthers team scoring 30 points and almost beating GB
Looks like the site I looked at was only showing DVOA for one week of 2023. Oops.

In any event, I don't want Barry back. I don't care if we give up the same amount of yards as last year if we are generating a lot more turnovers.
