Loved reading through the draft threads just now. This year I watched the first round on cheesehead.tv (free version) and it was painful. People who are Patreon subscribers are not good at content or commenting live. Makes sense if you like to watch people drink on a cam so you aren't drinking alone I guess.
Welcome home PB. You have been missed. Hope you will stick around to see what the PR familia has been up to. Probably the same arguments just different players to complain about.

Welcome back PB!!!! It was a big loss when you left! A lot of us missed you for sure! I can only speak for myself, but I always liked the analytical angle you brought.

PB! So glad to see you back. And you picked up right where you left off - hitting on all cylinders.

By the by, the Lions also just traded next year's third to move into the fourth this year and draft a gigantic player (offensive line) from another country or continent. He might end up being good, but I like to see our division opponents trading away future resources. It makes me happy.

The way this draft is ending, draft class seems a bit weaker than usual. The 85 superbowl champions and our never won a superbowl rivals done went P/K and trans Atlantic when they had very few picks.

Only the Bears would draft a QB with the first pick of the draft and draft a punter in the 4th round.

I really wish some of these GM’s had a sense of humor- really, the Tampa Bay GM couldn’t humor us all by picking that AJ Tampa guy, that corner from Iowa State or something? Come on, man!

Right now Lions’ fans are swaggering around like the Super Bowl is in the bag.

Okay - just found out Detroit also shipped out next year’s fourth to get a running back this year. So if I am reading this correctly, the Lions have no third or fourth round picks next year.

Detroit traded their 2025 3rd rounder to the Jets and their 2025 6th rounder to the Browns.

                      However, they were carrying Philly's 2025 4th rounder, Tampa's 2025 6th rounder, and Dallas' 2025 7th rounder.

Assuming they traded only one of the 2025 4ths, they would still have either their own or Philly's.

View the current order of all seven rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft. See all of the traded and forfeited picks.

MEANWHILE, Minny has only their 1st, two 5ths, and a 7th in 2025.

It’s supposed to be a shallow draft with so many juniors going back as seniors with the NIL/Portal system getting them paid. Next year those guys will be seniors so even if next years juniors stay, there will be the seniors who came back coming out anyway.

Long story short, next year we should see a deep draft again.

But as for this year, our competition all had either 1 or two picks in the first three rounds where the draft was supposed to be strong. We had 5.

Overall, if Gute had a good weekend, or even an average weekend, we had a lot of firepower and should get more quality players than most teams and have an advantage in improvement.

Curious what those of you more in the know than I am think about the Loins' two corners, Arnold and Rakestraw.

Both have very tenacious personalities. Arnold has good length and is a good tackler. They should be happy with him. I think Rakestraw might be too slow for the pro game, but time will tell

Also, he will be stunted in his development after the Bears fire this coaching staff after the season. They really should have started with a fresh staff this year. Vikings should have grabbed a good QB prospect 2 years ago to learn under Cousins. Throwing a guy into the mix who has questionable deep ball skills might be bad for his development, but JJ might be there to bail him out.
Jay Cutler might be the best QB in Bears history...just sayin'

I'm down here in the flatland and have been listening to local sports radio including live, on-the air interviews. IMHO the effin' Bears have drafted a couple of true winners.

Folks, we are going to have our hands full for the foreseeable future.

Also, BTW - (again, I don't know shit about this stuff) Michael Penix Jr. is the real deal.
Commenting on this is the reason I clicked on the thread. I think when its done being written Atlanta made the best pick of this draft (best because it was the hardest choice). Penix probably has the best arm talent in the draft. I haven't read anything to make me think he isn't smart enough. Now he gets to pull a Love and sit for a couple years behind Cousins and learn. Tell me this. If cousins has 4 years of solid play left when was atlanta going to be in position to draft a top QB again? Now they can move cousins in 2 years and probably recoup the pick they spent on Penix.
