There is this really cool invention. It is called a smart phone. You can simply tell it to make a reminder for you, or twelve reminders.

It’s not that difficult.

I try to go in tuesday morning and make picks. Then I have something on record at least. I usually go in and adjust at some point. Same thing I do with fantasy lineups. Tuesday morning I check if I have any Thursday players and make sure they are in or out of my lineup accordingly.

I’m used to fantasy and handling it right before game time but even then Thursdays always fukked me. It’s just not a natural football day unless it’s TDay. I think I also hate them for tainting the TDay games. Not special anymore.

It occurs to me that this "pick effectiveness" thing is kinda mathematically bogus, as it rewards people for not picking. For example, if you fail to make 4 picks, you get 4 zeros - that don't count against you in this metric, while your high number picks all count.

Correct. This entire thing is a waste to me. In my world, you show up to make every pick and most points win, or go pound sand. This is as much about longevity as it is picking correctly.

I’m not interested in the analytics portion of this, but I believe Tex is 100% correct. Figure out how many picks to meet the minimum, and choose only high point value picks. Boo.

I guess that would be true, but I think most are picking every game. For me I missed an entire week because I was in Yellowstone with no internet. Others have a thing called a life.

But here is the rub. I don't care about manipulating. Its a game. There is no cash prize. Its for FUN. If you want to stop making the bottom 5 picks feel free. Hell, may e I should just quit today until someone passes me. But I'm not going to do that.

Wthigoot made the effort to create the league and manage it. Anyone who has never offered to or actually done it themselves should try it before trying to whack him. Consider it a learning experience and next season it will come together smoother.
