One thing Nervouson has on Carlson is he's made all his XP. (That is not meant to be a jinx!) I don't think Carlson (or Joseph) would be faring any better. It's crazy to think they haven't solved their kicker problem yet.

At least he made the FG after his miss. He's got to be automatic from 45 in at a minimum.

Hale is a break glass in case of emergency type of thing I think. They've kept K's on the PS before (JJ Molson, Ramiz Ahmed, etc.).

Packers had K Brandon McManus in for a workout.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported on Tuesday that the Green Bay Packers, who have struggled at the kicking position for several years now, brought in kicker Brandon McManus for a workout. McManus signed a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Washington Commanders in March but was released by the team in June when he was sued over sexual assault allegations by flight attendants for an incident that was alleged to have occurred when he was a Jacksonville Jaguar in 2023.

The lawsuit was dismissed in September, as Judge Michael S. Sharrit claimed that the women, who wanted to use anonymity in the case, did not meet the state’s “exceptional case” standard. According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, the women were given a 10-day window to amend the lawsuit to identify their names, rather than remain anonymous, which lawyer Tony Buzbee claimed they would do. Three days later, that amendment was filed.

The NFL reportedly interviewed 30 people in their investigation of the allegations and two weeks ago decided there was not sufficient evidence to discipline the kicker. Buzbee claims that the league never talked to either of the women who are suing McManus. At the time, neither McManus nor his attorney, Brett Gallaway, released a statement.

The lawsuit alleges that McManus was inebriated on a team flight from London back to Jacksonville when he “grinded” up against the two alleged victims and attempted to kiss one of them. The Jaguars, who McManus was a member of at the time of the alleged incident, also didn’t make a statement when the league ruled they would not be disciplining McManus.

McManus has kicked 161 games in the NFL, mostly with the Denver Broncos, where he spent the 2014-2022 seasons. He’s made 253 of 311 (81 percent) career field goals. The Packers’ current kicker, Brayden Narveson, has hit 12 of 17 (71 percent) field goals as a rookie this season.

Good news: McManus is more accurate than Nervouson from 40-49 range.
Bad news: he's being sued for being a creepy guy.

The market for a competent FG kicker must be bad when you can't find someone who isn't an alleged sexual predator.

81%? Only ten percent better than Nervouson? Ugh. No thanks.

                    Breakdown of McManus by distance:

                    20-29: 66-70, 94.3%
                    30-39: 70-75, 93.3%
                    40-49: 72-84, 85.7%
                    50+: 45-82, 54.9%

His 54.9% from 50+ is below today's standards. His 85.7% from 40-49 isn't great, but would obviously be an upgrade over what Nervouson has done so far.

McManus is 312 for 321, at 97.2% on XPs. I, for one, am vehemently against bringing drama into the lockerroom. This offense should be getting enough TDs and +2s to not need a kicker, me thinks.

Nice job dropping stats on your first post Jorris, welcome to PackerRats!

Yeah as you and Jose Cartero have so kindly shown, this is the kicker we need! With 97.2% this guy is on the same level as Heisenberg from Breaking Bad.

When XPs get missed you see LeFleur throwing a fit on the sideline while at the same exact moment millions of Packers backers do the same in their living room. That’s drama!!!

                              Guter, looking for a kicker.

And that's where he found this creep. Of course, we can forgive our athletes anything if they're really good (See Green, Ahman), but this guy is barely at the Mendoza Line for kickers.

CBS Single - Most of the midwest, but not Detroit area, west, including Alaska, and south will get Packers vs. Texans. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo with the call. Northwest Wisconsin and parts of Minnesota will get Detroit at Minnesota on Fox.
