Thats a nice hollywood story line, but I'm pretty sure Love gets that talk every practice, all through camp, in texts during the offseason etc. He has a bad habit. He had it in college. Its not going away. Even last year, as I pointed out in my several fearful posts about this season, he threw a lot of really dumb passes during his incredible run. He either got lucky or bailed out by his WRs on all of them for that run. Its the reason I didn't want to extend him until this year was over.

Once he snapped out of the funk last season as well as after screwing up early in the Houston game, Love became very Rodgers-like. Hopefully for whatever reason, he will stay on track that way and not throw into crowds. I don't recall that bad decisions/good luck late in the season last year that you're talking about.

if you tell love to be more careful with the ball, then you don't get the spectacular plays anymore either

need to face it. love might just be more favre then rodgers. but thats not all a bad thing. favre won 3 mvps and a super bowl

just hope we don't have to see loves dick at any point

The results were Rodgers like. The decisions were not

I don't mind risky throws if he hits on enough to make up for the ints. I'll take an INT instead of multiple punts because we were very conservative.

Not only does challenging down field result in some big plays, it also makes the defense respect the deep threat.

That hardly ever happens, though. The most GOAT-like thing about Rodgers was not throwing interceptions. Turnovers and particularly interceptions kill.

Agreed, but when you look at a defense and you see iso on the edge, that is when you take that shot. Its harder for a defender to pick than it is for the WR to come down with it in that situation. Also, most flags happen in iso coverage, not many in triple coverage. The deep shot should rarely be predetermined in the huddle.

Agreed for most of his career. That became less so the last couple years. He is gambling more as his frustration mounts. Early on you NEVER saw deep balls into double coverage.

There were, however, rumors of a threesome with Jessica Szohr and Olivia Munn.

Some of his risky throws are when he's got pressure. Reminds me of Favre not willing to take a sack.

Honestly, a sack ends a drive often enough to be a virtual turnover.

I don't believe the goal should be to have as few interceptions as possible. Taken to extremes, you would never throw the ball as that would guarantee zero interceptions. While that's an unrealistic situation, it illustrates there must be a point at which you're better off taking a risk of the INT
You need to acknowledge that part of challenging the opposing defense is taking some risks.

I said deep balls not balls deep.

I can't seem to keep the twelve-year-old-boy part of myself out of this forum.

One thing that's kind of exciting to me is to think this year's team is not yet fully developed and formed. Halfley has said the defense is still in its "infancy," and it sure looks like the offense hasn't really taken off quite yet. Love has room to improve, as do many of the other young guys. I've also been mildly encouraged at Sean Rhyan's play - I wonder if, in practice, Morgan is getting reps at one of the tackle positions, in preparation to move him outside at some point in the next year or so, depending on Walker and Tom.

Rhyan is off to a very good start. Myers is also having a decent year. Both are playing better than the Myers-RunyanJr. of last year thru 7 games.

Packers are blitzing less this year than last year (20% vs. 30%), but they already have 8.5 sacks from LB's and DB's vs. 4.5 all last year. Better players for sure, but probably better deception.
