  • Saleh, Risk and Reward

    This merits it's own thread.

The Defense is performing quite well under Hafley.

Does bringing in Saleh create a 'too many cooks in the kitchen' situation?

Or does it just add more sauce for the goose?

    Discuss.

According to MLF, he will be working with the offense.

Temporary help not challenging Hafley regarding the defense. Seems positive

But will that have Halfley looking over his shoulder? This is going to be a real test for MLF.

From the presser, it seems like MLF is keeping Saleh on the offensive side of the ball. Honestly I think MLF convinced gute to let Saleh just hang out for a bit and say the first things that he sees about the offense. Also we still don't know how long Saleh will actually be in Green Bay.

Sounds like he will be watching tape of upcoming opponents game film with the QB and others to dissect what they are trying to do on different defensive looks.

The article said reengineering the opposing teams defense.

              Saleh??? I hated that guy.

Before he was with the Packers.

Don’t see how it can be a negative. Not stepping on anyones toes.

hafley has been good, but saleh is an elite DC IMO

plus they were talking in the last game that hafley, might already be getting head coaching calls next offseason

saleh has already been there and failed, so he isn't gonna get poached anytime soon

i think you have to keep saleh around as long as you can

and i think its very cool if he's just adding his eye to the offense to see things from the other side of the ball and help love and company improve even more

I absolutely love this move. Hafley keeps total control of the D and Saleh helps the O prepare for the upcoming team's D. Also, you're keeping Saleh from maybe going to a competitor, plus you have him on staff if Hafley decides to move on. This is nothing but a GREAT move.

I like networking in general. If Long Tall Saleh and MLF's staff have a good relationship, then they can steer coaching/scouting prospects to each other or give some tactical nuggets for shared opponents.

This. Why wouldn't you keep him close just in case. Red is correct, no one is calling Saleh this year, but someone MIGHT call Halfass. We aren't even paying Bobby, the Jets are.

And as someone who's been laid off before, it would be pretty awesome for a friend to call you and have you do what you're good at and enjoy

Well damn that’s a fucking awesome nugget!!

Homerism levels are high for me right now. Wonder if this could this be the final sprinkle of salt that brings all the flavor out?
