Play great? Threw for 211 yards. Benefited all night from the Texans granting him awesome field position and a running game averaging about 5 a pop and he dropped 21 on them, 7 in the first 3 quarters. I'm not sure that meets the definition of great.

Rodgers is now an adequate QB who is as good as the performance of his teammates. He can't carry a team anymore. But we kinds learned that in 2022.

Played great? No. Played well enough to win? Sure.
Garrett Wilson had the two best catches of his life and they needed both to win. Those weren't legendary throws by Rodgers or anything.

Rodgers looks old and slow. The "connection" with Adams started to show in this game, but this is a flawed team and Rodgers will not survive to 45 behind that line, nevermind play that long. I don't think he wants to play that long, and I don't think any team will put up with his nonsense at that point, as his skills are already well into decline. Even the Jets fans are fed up with him. Maybe they give him a reprieve after last night's game, but he hasn't cracked 300 yards passing in almost 3 years. He's averaging a full yard per attempt this year than his career average. That's... not great. Other metrics indicate he's a mediocre QB at this stage. He was a great player. He's a lock to be a 1st ballot HOF, but Brady and Mahomes are better.

I got a good laugh out of seeing Jake Hanson playing G and giving up 2 sacks.

Something is wrong with CJ Stroud. Two bad games in a row, and this one without Diggs or Collins. Jalen Pitre, who is a good player, had a very bad game.

Good for the Jets for winning - they aren't picking at the 4th spot in the 2025 draft anymore - but I struggle to see them making a serious push for playoffs.

Agreed. He is like most of about 20 QBs after the top 3 and then the next 4. You can win with him if everything else is right. Then there are the 5 that need to be replaced asap. But the kicker is that you can't be paying a guy in those groups like the guys in the top 3 get paid. Even Love, who is arguably in the "next 4" is overpaid.

The NFL has a year of tape on Stroud is what is wrong. It happens to all QBs. The great ones overcome it. The rest become the group of 20 behind the top 3 and next 4.

I don’t know if you can get a bead on Love. Part of what I like about him is he has playground style similar to Favre and now Mahomie. Makes him unpredictable IMO. Also some INTs which needs some work. I don’t have a problem if he throws interceptions trying to catch up. It’s when he’s throwing them when leading that drives you crazy.

I'm not there yet. He is also of year 2 on tape. He shows me signs he could ascend to the "next 4", but then he shows me he definitely isn't there yet. Still hopeful, but I'm equally convinced that willis has every skill Love has and more. I can't imagine Gutes/MiLF have balls big enough to trade Love even if, by years end, they think Willis is the better QB. It would be the GM coup de Grand of all time if they did and it worked.

They can’t trade Love after this year or for a couple. Cap hit is too high.

Calm down Tex. I am not saying if it wasn’t for the cap we should trade Love. I am just pointing out from a cap point it can’t be done.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

You're a dumbass in general and probably a bad CPA too, but in this case, you're probably correct - the dead money would be bad, although, cap-wise, literally anything can be overcome.

Damn, if Cooper Rush had been in there, the cowboys might be winning this game.

For Jerruh to fire McCarthy mid-season would be an act of mercy.

A lip reading of Dak Prescott on the sidelines had him saying "we fucking suck". Allegedly.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step.
