I don’t have issue with the miss just pointing it out in regards to the final score. That’s when you can understand unlike the youngsters shanking XPs on a sunny day. I believe during the missed FG I felt Pepe should have gone for it because it seemed like bad FG odds..

Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated notes that of 1,050 players who have had at least 40 targets in a season over the last ten years, Wicks’ catch rate ranks 1,045th. That’s some pretty dismal company to keep.

So does he have KY hands or is he just trying to do too much with the ball before he actually has it controlled ? I recall a few plays where it appeared he tried to make a move too suddenly.

If he's trolling me, kudos, he got me. I actually think he just can't remember.

I actually LOLed this. In a sad ironic way. Dude is constantly open. You have to be for your QB to keep tossing the rock your way with that metric.

I don't recall reading anywhere that drops were a concern of his in college so I would say its combination of that and its in his head now. Hands can be fixed. Gaining massive separation is a gift.

In Wicks last CFB season he had a really bad drop rate. Chalked it up then to concentration drops. I think that's what this is also - concentration and confidence. Some of his drops you can see he's trying to make a move with the ball before he secures it.
It absolutely can be fixed, but he's going to really have to work hard on it. I'd be surprised if they aren't making him work on it over the bye.

His separation skills are very very good and if he can fix the drops could be a top 15 WR.

He's not the only one with the dropsies. GB has something like 20 official drops this season, DET has 1. Jordan Love's completion % would be much higher (along with their 3rd down conversion and RZ TD %) if there weren't so many drops.

Drops, penalties, and dumb mistakes are holding this team back.

It was a major concern coming out of college and referred to in 2023 training camp. I was pleased the end of last season thinking it might be behind him.

Did some research, he had 14 drops his last two seasons in college, to go with 86 receptions.

I don't think Wicks will fix the dropsies. It's not like he hasn't been working on it everyday in practice already, probably was doing the same in college.

He's fine for a WR4. I'm not holding my breath for him to out it all together and become a really good starting WR at this point.

How bad was Adams in early years in terms of drops/routes/production vs someone like Wicks?

Adams dropped 12 of 96 passes in 2015. It was a considerable issue, but Adams worked to correct it. The same latitude should be given to Wicks, and he should be encouraged to seek out a guy like Devante to figure out what he needs to do to correct the issue.

It occurs to me that if the wide receivers didn't drop so many balls, the team would be in better positions offensively, and maybe, just maybe, Love wouldn't throw so many interceptions. It's like he's trying to make up for teammates' mistakes.

Man, I know Pepe don't like it, but Love's attitude reminds me a lot of Favre's.

The drops seems mental all the way. Some dump passes and let him work the field to bring his confidence back because at this point it’s slumping.
