Davis, 28, is now subject to waivers. Any team that claims the offensive lineman is responsible for paying the remaining $3.9 million Davis is due in fully guaranteed salary.

The move comes three days after Davis was a late addition to the injury report ahead of the Bears' 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots. Davis reported back tightness to team trainers on Sunday morning, was ruled out and sent home because "we don't want a guy standing on two feet with a back issue," according to coach Matt Eberflus.

Davis was not on the injury report during Chicago's week of practice ahead of the New England game.
If he reported back problems last week, but now is waved without an injury designation, he must have just quit on the team. That dumpster fire on the lake keeps getting larger.

With Jordan Love no longer limited, it means he took all the practice reps for the first time in a while.

“It'd be good to just get him some practice under his belt where he's fully healthy,” Matt LaFleur said.

Love will listed on the injury report but as a full participant.

Yeah the scuttlebutt I've heard is that Davis basically made a business decision, and got cut for it.
Also: that DJ Moore is unhappy and was one of the players supposedly wanting Williams benched. I guess that play where he walked off the field to the bench was for real.

New OC, players quitting and squabbling, sounding like things are in tatters... this team will either be pulling out every trick in the bag and playing desperate and fearless (they have nothing to lose, the coaches will be fired after the season) or they will fold after taking a couple of punches.

        Caleb Williams will start.

If GB can stifle/frustrate that offense and get an early lead, the boo-birds will be out and it will get in CHI players' heads.

Moore never wanted the Bears to draft Williams to begin with.

As the Bears prepare to take in the pool of quarterback prospects available at the NFL Scouting Combine this week, with many on the outside connecting the dots from their No. 1 overall pick to a QB such as Caleb Williams, Moore is steadfast in his belief that Fields remains the best option.

"I still don't think they compare to Justin right now," Moore said Monday on NFL Total Access regarding the quarterbacks in the draft.

It's little wonder Moore would back his QB.

He had far and away the best year of his career last season while working with Fields. Moore led the Bears with 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns, all career bests.

"The relationship jelled real well from the beginning," Moore said about forming a bond with Fields following a trade from Carolina last offseason." Since I got traded, he was in contact, and we started throwing together, so it made the transition into games and everything easy."

I think that is the implication of "sending him home".

Jordan Love the last time he faced the Bears.

Am I wrong for thinking the Pack is going to stomp the bears out early?

Well, shit that’s just what the doctor ordered. Maybe this is the game he gets on track and goes off for the rest of the year.

Yes, you shouldn't just be thinking it, you should be expecting it. The Packers are healthier, better, not in disarray, and coming off a bye. This should be a stomping, and anything less is a disappointment.

You’re right I’m being a big pussy. Does predicting a 41 - 13 score get me back in?
