  • THE DEFENSE---HMMM

OK, so going in to face the dreadful Bears Defense, I expected some sort of domination.

On their last 60 3rd downs, the Bears only succeeded 9 times
Theyd went several quarters without a touchdown
    They looked Carolina like

Against, Greeny Bay, they succeeded in 9 of 16 third down conversions. If you add in their 4th down tries, add 3 into that making them 12 of 16. And one sieve was from 3rd and 19 and a first down 2 plays later.

Despite being loaded with first round draft picks, I just don't know where this group is going.

Walker still looks lost at times. Jaire went out on the field with the coaches to test his health, hugged a couple, and decided to give it a go on a pitch count. He played 10 early plays and shut it down and I'm not really sure why. Part of me goes back to comments from last year and wonders if he doesn't want to play unless he's 100 percent. Next year seems like a year we load up on CB's.

What say the Rats ? IMO this defense does not look like a group that can take us deep into the playoffs.

I expected the defense to improve and it has, just not enough. Yet.

Defense is a WIP and that is not unexpected. Everything about this D is different than last years so growing pains were to be expected.

Overall performance has been about what I expected. Thought the pass rush would be better, but didn't think they'd be #3 in the NFL in forced turnovers.

I think the defense would be fine if they didn’t keep getting put in a bad spot. They have been strong in games, but how long can they hold up when the office turns it over st the worse moments and doesn’t give the D a chance to get their wind back.

They started pretty strong and lots of Turnovers. Seems less impressive as of late.

Stats wise they are 10-13 range on many items - yards, points allowed, etc.

Suppose I expected more but then slightly above average is about as expected.

What happened to 95? He was supposed to be the star.

It seems like the entire DL has underachieved. I wonder if the DL coach, Rebrovich, might be replaced after this year. He is a holdover from the previous staff. Hafley might have someone he wants to bring in.
