MLF, take the fucking points, dude.

This + stop taking the ball if you win the toss. The 1st couple of times it worked and showed you had confidence in your offense but more often than not, it's putting you team in a tough spot by not being able to count on getting the ball to begin the 2nd half. His decision to go for 2 was also a head scratcher at the time. It worked out because they made it but if it would have failed they were looking a 2 td's to win the game at the end.

Stud - Edgerrin Cooper - 4 TFL's

Dud - Jayden Reed - 1 catch for 6 yards and a drop on 4th down.

Duds:

MLF - outcoached again, team not mentally ready to play, 0-5 against the top teams
Love - 5 good minutes of football, earn your contract
WR’s - only made Loves job more difficult, losing Watson shouldn’t make the entire receiving corps anemic
Jaire - you make the list until you are cut at the end of the season
Bullard - played like a rookie all game, although none of our safeties made any plays I remember
Pass rush - none to speak of, no sense in listing names
Pass defense - Darnold’s highest yardage game of his career, offense kept you on the field all game and pass rush didn’t help

Studs
Cooper - best player on defense, flies around and makes plays, needs a running mate at LB
Jacobs - I hesitate putting you on the list due to the fumble, but you never quit playing hard
Valentine - INT shows you belong on the field
McManus - makes the kicks he’s supposed to
Whelan - a keeper at punter
Oline - I thought the run blocking was good and they held up fairly well against a blitzing defense. Would like to see how they graded out, not sure about this one.

Dud - Jayden Reed - 1 catch for 6 yards and a drop on 4th down.

Jayden Reed has had a cold end to the season here compared to his hot start. They need him to be the guy when Watson is just a faster Lazard and Wicks is year two Devante.

Reed is dynamic with the ball in his hands, but he's not always great at creating separation on his own. He sometimes needs to be schemed open. It was tougher to do today without Watson's deep threat.

Wicks was pretty good yesterday. Targeted 5 times and had 4 catches for 43 yards. Hasn't had a good year, but maybe should be targeted more going forward.

The biggest dud is MLF, who now has had his team’s ass thrashed five separate times in the first half of games. Where is the plan to get people into the game? Second drive was 3 lame deep balls? Why do we have to wait until halfway through the second quarter to see a screen? Our system screams no huddle, but we never utilize it and screw it up when we do.

Someone needs to dial up Holmgren to have him sit down with MLF and find some better ways to incorporate short passing into this offense.

Pretty good? He showed up. I would put Doubs at pretty good going by the numbers. Reed sucked yesterday but he has almost 1000 for the season. Wicks is at 366.
