Also, Watson most definitely tore his ACL.
Non-contact, pivoted as he was coming out of his break.
Hopefully no meniscus or cartilage damage.

Watson is such a china doll. Man that dude is as injury prone as they come. This is the dude they traded Devante for, and he has never put up more than 650 yards in a season. It's hard not to be disappointed in that.

Is an ACL a sure thing for Watson, or just fan speculation?
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Haven't heard anything. A lot of times if it's an ACL you hear about it pretty quickly. It's fairly easy to diagnose. So I'm holding out some hope that it's not. Whatever the case, I'd say he's done for this year.

              2025 is Watson’s contract year.
Don’t see him getting an extension at all during next season.
Not sure we should offer much of a contract at the end of next season.
It’s the business side of the NFL.

Doubs being sick forced MLF to play Watson, and now he's done. No matter what you do there MLF is going to catch hell.

Rappaport reporting the rumor Watson has an ACL injury plus other possible damage. Tough break for him, especially after he seemed to solve his hamstring issues.
Too soon to talk about his contract, I could see that going a few different ways but they will want to see how he recovers.

Either way, I think we've determined that Bo Melton is probably not a long term replacement for Watson, and they should probably look at the draft or for a cheap FA option.

Also - WTH happened to Jayden Reed? He was off to a good start and has basically turned into a pumpkin. it's like he traded hands with Wicks. Also, the jet sweeps to him haven't really worked in a long time; I feel like defenses have seen it enough to defend it well. Scheme the dude open for something where he can catch and run.

I don't know why, but in the bathroom this morning I couldn't stop thinking about how the Packers have been playing for the last few weeks.

                    Easton Butler
                    @Easton__Butler

Update: The Packers will be sending RB Marshawn Lloyd to the Badger Athletic Performance facility at UW-Madison, per Tom Silverstein. This is the same facility that Christian Watson and Eric Stokes were sent to last offseason to solve the issue with their hamstrings. Lloyd has suffered a hamstring, hip and an ankle injury in his rookie year.

You got nothing from this guy this season, and next-to-nothing from the first round pick. And some special teams production from your third round linebacker.

I suspect if Gute could have a do-over he'd rethink taking Morgan over either Barton or Dejean, Lloyd over Jarrian Jones, and Hopper over Peyton Wilson. He's going to say he likes his guys and I'm sure he does, but with hindsight being 20/20 and some truth serum he might fess up.
Meh, every GM falls into that category. He really needs to nail this next one, none of this Stokes-Myers-Amari 2021 crap.
(Also: woof, 2021 was a bad draft... only ones left are Slaton and McDuffie. Lotta teams had some bad whiffs; MIN and CHI had bad drafts, DET had a very very good draft)

Sending Lloyd to Madison can't hurt, dude has had several different injuries, maybe he needs to figure out why. I still have some hope that he can be a change-of-pace back, but time and patience will run out, especially if he can't get on the field. The 2025 RB draft is much better than last year.

This draft class was very good despite the injuries to Morgan and Lloyd, and they might still come good. I don't think Hopper will ever be more than a special teams guy, but what do I know?

Really hard to grade this draft because of all the injuries. 4 guys from this draft started games, and all looked the part, but even they missed time with injuries. Hopper was the only pick I really didn't like. Seemed like a reach. Maybe he'll prove us wrong, but it's notable Quay's injury didn't get him much playing time.

Always premature to judge after one year, but Cooper, Williams, and Bullard all knocked it out of the park for being rookies. Three rookies that are starters or close. That's a solid draft.
