  • DEAR GOUCHEBAG, BRING THE FRESNO FRAUD and YOUR WISCONSIN BADGER HOME

Is this the mother load of all captain obvious Get it Done Gouchebag moments ?

Once upon a time I labled Devante Adams the Fresno Fraud as I kept seeing flashbacks of Robert Ferguson (who we drafted over Badger legend Chris Chambers) when he had the dropsies in his poor rookie season.

As Mad would occasionally point out, that was my motherload of all F'ck up labels.

The Fresno Fraud turned out to be a Fresno Freak and has displayed the talent to be in the Hall of Fame one day. He wanted to be resigned by Green Bay one full year before GB shipped him off to the Raiders. But Gouchers didn't get it done, and unlike many WR's these days, Devante played out his contract like a true professional and thankfully didn't get hurt. But his ego was bruised and he wanted out. He wanted to go with his old buddy, Carr, and then he ended up going to an even sadder situation as SHARON Rodgers gutted the Jets franchise.

He was cut. He's there for a contract without haivng to give away any draft compensation at all. He's made comments that Jordan Love is way better than he thought, and has put word out that he'd welcome a return to Green Bay. He's a class act, he's loved by the press, and if this isn't the easiest no brainer I've seen I don't know what is.

Green Bay has zero #1 WR's but they definitely have a group of guys who, IF they grow, can be very effecting #2 and #3 WR's. Not only does Adams make the Paid, perhaps overpaid Love machine better, he makes the whole WR group better and a strength instead of a weakness. And Adams, the dude still wants to make a few great seasons so someday he qualified for the Hall of Fame. NO BRAINER,....NO BRAINER...NO BRAINER....I think we have cash, and between WR, DL, and CB it'd be so nice if we addressed 2 of these 3 in free agency and then go draft BPA after.

Thoughts Rats....my Captain Obvious thought, is Get it down Gouchebag. Perhaps we start at 3 year 54 Million.....maybe max out at 3 year....63 Million. WOuld seem reasonable for all sides

    SECOND IDEA

OK, so the Packer GM's are often "too smart" to draft the no brainers in their back yard.

I know I was not the only one pissed when Wold drafted Buckley over Troy Vincent, and Teddy passed up the opportunity to draft about the best Defender in football in TJ Watt to trade back for a gag of shit and draft Kevin King instead. Nice job guys.

Well there is a safety in our backyard, who is going to be an effecting player for many many years to come. A Jimmy Leonard type leader, with Jimmy Leonard type intelligence.

DEAR GOUCHEBAG, Draft Wisconsin Badger Safety, Hunter Wohler. Not well hyped, not incredibly elite, but just very very good at everything he does and he constantly overdelivers.
And, I"m only slightl suprised, but the dude scored 9.55 on his Belover RAS test. So here we have a smash mouth football player, who is intelligent, and CAN play, and is also a freak athlete.

9.55 puts ranks him at about 50th out of 1083 RAS scores for safeties entering the draft from 1987 to 2025. I know...4.57 40 year dash...but Along with that, Wohler was clocked at 6.72 seconds in the three-cone and 4.25 in the shuttle. He was measured at 6-foot-2 and 213 pounds with a 37-inch vertail jump and 10-foot broad jump.

Wity that being said, THROW ALL THAT SHIT OUT THE WINDOW

    The DUDE CAN PLAY.

Dear Gouchebag, get it down. The Frenso Freak and the Hunter belong in GREEN BAY
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

We’ll see what DA wants for his next and probably last contract.
I remember the Packers pursuing JJ Watt a few years back. JJ said great things about wanting to play for a winner and all that.
In the end, he took the money and signed with a bad Cardinals team.
I expect about the same for Adams.
Maybe he tries to get back with Rodgers or takes less to be with a playoff contending team.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I don't know about Devante Adams, shit doesn't usually work out the second time around. Age is a real thing.

Wohler was one of the best high school players I have ever seen, its a shame Covid 2020 ruined what could have been one of the greatest state championship games of all time, Wohler's Muskego Warriors vs Braelon Allen's Fond du Lac Cardinals. Wohler should have came out last year as his senior year wasn't great, I respect the loyalty to the Badgers but most guys that were turnover guys from the Chryst years just didn't have the same careers as Badgers after Fickell took over.

I don't know anything about the Wisconsin kid, so can say nothing there, but about Davante Adams - I have mixed feelings. Generally, I'd agree with Nutzy here - the second-time-around thing doesn't usually work out, and age is real. And if he wants a longer deal that's going to drag the cap down, well, my guess is that Adams only has maybe two or three (tops) really good seasons ahead. It's going to be a decline soon. So do you want to do that thing where you sign him to a contract and in two years everyone's bitching about how much dead cap money there'll be because Adams needs to be gone? On the other hand, he'd be a big upgrade over Romeo Doubs (I see them having similar roles), whose career I think is in danger after two concussions.

Yet the Packers need - what they really need - is a field-stretching guy. And Adams is not that.

So I don't know if it would be a good move or not. The whole WR corps seems kinda weird aned messed up right now. Watson hurt (again), Doubs concussed twice AND crabby about his role earlier in the season, Reed and Wicks taking steps backward.

I saw a couple of the jet games last year and he does not appear to have lost anything. He takes really good care of himself. He’s a family man and his wife who is from Salinas (farm town) has always mentioned how she loved Green Bay. I could see this happening because it really should. The WR groups need a veteran presence and you couldn’t ask for a better one. The money is gonna get blown somewhere this would be worth it.

Just have Shannon Sharpe give Devante some of his cognac first. The interview he did on club Shay Shay is what started all this talk after he slammed a cup of it and his Packers love spilled out.

I completely agree, Bretsky, although it's kinda dependent on where Wohler fits in the draft, as there are several positions we need worse than Safety.

When I first read "bring your badger home", I thought you might be talking about Zach Baun who is a free agent, albeit probably a too expensive one.

Much as I like the idea of Metcalf, Davante is close to as good, maybe still better even at his current age. Getting him without giving up a draft pick and/or a good player is clearly the best way to go.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Baun was never a free agent.

Eagles extended him with a 3 year deal.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

                Devante is TOO EASY

He's still an elite route runner. I don't want Metcalf for a draft pick, and about the 30MIL/year plus he wants. He's a nut job imo as well. BRING DEVANTE HOME; he NEVER should have left in the first place. Didn't work out for either side. Had GOUCHEBAG signed him when he should have, over one year left on his deal, he'd have never left in the first place.

We NEED somebody who we can rely on to run a great route and get open on 3rd down.

A field stretcher, I agree...we need another Watson. Find one in the draft. But bring the FRESNO FREAK home !!!

AS FOR THE HUNTER, I fully expect him to be drafted by Pittsburg, or perhsps the Ravens and thrive.

After all, the Packers GM's seem to hate Badgers

Jack Sanborn has pretty good LB coverage grades, he'd be a cheap pickup in FA.

Would MUCH rather have Devante than the Metcalf.

Adams is 32 and will be 33 by the playoffs. He does take care of himself and is still effective, but honestly no way we should pay him what he wants. Maybe 2 years 12 per. He's going to get 2 for 40 with a fake year at a stupid number year 3 so it looks better. I don't want to pay him that. I'd pay DK 30 before I pay Adams 20 at this point.

Pay the guy that doesn’t want to be where he is at instead of the guy that knows where he has been and wants to come home?

But now we don’t get shit!

Adams wanted to be on the West Coast. He has had every option to come back or stay in Green Bay. He turned down the Packers offer and was then traded to Las Vegas. He only went to the Jets to reunite with Rodgers and to get the hell out of Vegas. If Adams works out for the Rams they are going to be a problem, if he shows his age there they wasted their money, some how they feel Adams is a better fit than Kupp.

Adams has a history of trolling fans in the offseason. He's not the only player. There were lots of rumors he wanted to go back to the West Coast, this signing does not surprise me and in fact makes a lot of sense. He'll be in a good offense with less dysfunction and media chaos. Also McVay is a good coach.

Adams has stayed healthy, Kupp hasn't. That's the difference. Agree the Rams could be a problem. They have to be the offseason favorites for the NFCW.
