  • How good can Edgerrin Cooper become?

As a mistake-prone rookie not always trusted by the coaching staff (especially early in the season), Cooper played only 45% of the defensive snaps and had 77 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and 1 interception.

This year he is said to be very noticeably bigger and stronger. Presumably, he will have a much better understanding of the defense. Playing the full-time role of a "difference-making" type player, can he double his stats from last year? Will he become All-Pro worthy?

By all the accounts I've read, the answer is yes.

He seems to be talented as a tackler, a pass rusher, and even in coverage. His speed is his most obvious quality - he gets places fast.

Now if the light goes on for T'yron Hopper, holy smokes.

The sky's the limit if he can stay healthy. He led the team in TFL's despite playing only 45% of snaps. He seems to have the kind of instincts that Quay Walker lacks that enable him to be in a position to make big plays. A big part of the reason he wasn't assignment-sure early in the season was because he had missed much of training camp with an injury. Hopefully bulking up will enable him to survive the rigors of playing LB.

I always look at TFL as an indicator of a guys instincts which can't be taught so I'm very optimistic....and I hated the pick. Still would rather have DeJean right about now, but if we got the next Bobby Wagner or Patrick Willis my feelings will change fast. Its good to be wrong when your team benefits from it.
