I wonder if guys focus too much on building muscle and not enough on maintaining flexibility.I can't run no more

I'm torn on this as I liked Morgan a lot coming out (but thought we might get him in the 2nd). I can't sour on a guy I wanted just cuz we took him 20 picks too early. Plus Morgan is showing why he is an LT not a RG. He looked good in the Jets game.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostI'd take him over Morgran, still
That said, DeJean plays the premium position we were short at and the team does have a good history of developing OL. Walker is a good LT, not great, so there was no real need imo. Drafting Morgan solved zero problms while potentially creating one. DeJean would have solved multiple problems much better than Bullard did.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

If Morgan turns out to be an above average LT, Bullard a solid Slot/SS, and Cooper an elite LB, I will have no problem with not drafting DeJean.I can't run no more

Regarding Fritz's and Joe's posts above about injuries: I think part of it is reporting things that in the past hardly got reported or even noticed. Also, a lot more "procedures" - like the Love thing that have resulted in a procedure or with that procedure being reported in the past. In addition, yeah I do think the emphasis on muscle building and fitness in general nowadays may result (rather ironically) in more injuries, not less. Some of us are old enough to remember Max McGee and Fuzzy Thurston and their fitness regimens. Back in the day, there undoubtedly weren't as many soft tissue injuries as now (I can see a couple of "truth squaders" in here scrambling to disprove that hahahaha). My own personal experience at age 78 is that not doing things the modern crap - stretching, other forms of fitness, etc., not to even mention the idiocy of diet and nutrition that they push nowadays, and I've literally never had problems like many of today's athletes.
Basically, there's a lot of bogus crap pushed nowadays, both procedurally and statistically. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Even if continued sub par CB play sinks our chances at an Owl year after year?Originally posted by Joemailman View PostIf Morgan turns out to be an above average LT, Bullard a solid Slot/SS, and Cooper an elite LB, I will have no problem with not drafting DeJean. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

You think subpar CB play is why the Packers lost in the playoffs to the Eagles? Packers scored 10 points and turned the ball over 4 times. Jalen Hurts had 131 yards passing. And you blame the CB play?Originally posted by bobblehead View PostEven if continued sub par CB play sinks our chances at an Owl year after year?I can't run no more

The problem is that if they don't commit to muscle building and fitness regiments, they will not be at the level physically to compete with others that do. So they push themselves to be at the limits of human abilities. And yes, by doing so, they wind up with a much greater risk of being pushed beyond the limits and injuring something. A team made up of NFL practice squad players would flatten Lombardi's best, so whatever regiment they did is completely irrelevant.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostRegarding Fritz's and Joe's posts above about injuries: I think part of it is reporting things that in the past hardly got reported or even noticed. Maybe. (BTW. it's regimen, not regiment). Some of that undoubtedly is necessary. It also, however, might have something to do with the injuries, heavier built up hamstrings and calf muscles, etc. being more likely to sprain or strain, and bulked up legs putting more stress on knew cartilage, Achilles tendons, etc. - tissue that is what it is and doesn't get "fitter" with exercise (somebody correct me if I'm medically wrong about that). What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Two very nice pass rush moves by Van Ness. He's not just bull rushing anymore.

Jaire was amazing; and he was smash mouth, very physical, and a great tackler....until his injury...then he just wasn't the same.
He's with the Ravens nowTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

If the lights really have gone on for this kid - if - then that'd be a major development for this defense. Major.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostTwo very nice pass rush moves by Van Ness. He's not just bull rushing anymore.
