I’m not sure anyone earned a roster spot tonight.
Several players moved closer to losing a spot.
If Wooden was on the bubble, he may have clinched a spy on the roster. Heath and Hardman may be battling for the last WR spot and both played poorly. Monk had a bad game, but may be saved by Glover's injury. I think Kalen King may have helped himself.

I’m always interested. It’s someone else’s decision on when I’m allowed to comment.
I LOVE how you couldn’t tell our 1st string QB from our second or third or fourth. That was fun. 28 may be athletic but he’s dumb as fuck. Most importantly our defense 1st-4th string has a problem between the hashes from 0-20 yards. That might be considered a weakness. It’s bad when wooden is the player of the game because he didn’t do anything retarded. I wish our QB had FAS, because apparently somehow that makes you better than what we got.

That game was horrible to watch. Our 1s got carved up on D. Ever team we play is going to run a RB or TE across the middle for a 5-8 yard completion over and over again.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Bones, sinking like stones - all that we fought for. Homes, places we've grown - all of us are done for.
But we live in a beautiful world. Don’t panic.
Did you check out Coldplay at Camp Randell a few weeks ago? I woulda gone had I found a date.
Seriously, relax. The preseason is still in the air. Get back to me when the Packers’ hapless corners are getting slaughtered in the real games. I reckon, Nixon, Valentine, Hobbs, this bum, that bum are gonna fuck up the upcoming season.

Hard to watch that when they’re competing for screen time with the red hot Brewers. Based on this and a couple articles / seems I didn’t miss anything.

I'm chalking this debacle up to the divine football gods having a conflict of interest.
I had the pleasure of having both the Packers game and the IFL Green Bay Blizzard playoff game live, on two screens simultaneously. Don't even ask me how I managed the audio. Both games had a kickoff time of 7pm central.
I can only conclude, based on what I watched, that the aforementioned deity (or deities) could only muster enough winning juju for one team on a friggin Saturday evening in early August.
One interesting thing was that both games finished at almost the exact same time. I was a bit surprised as I expected the indoor team to end earlier, but I was wrong.
Also, if the NFL is the equivalent to "The Transformers" then the IFL is indeed the equivalent to "The GoBots", a MUCH less well funded, more generic endeavor with often poor audio quality on the in-game announcers, all the way to the obviously mega-low-budget advertisements and sponsors. It's not quite public access channel independent tv show production horrible - but maybe two steps above
But hey, at least someone representing Green Bay is playing championship level football. It sure as hell ain't the Packers.

I didn't see it until this morning, but yes, the game certainly was terrible to watch, and yes, at least we have the Brewers hahahaha.
Something I saw during the week was that LaFleur said he wasn't gonna be the one calling the plays. That might have had something to do with it.
I wonder what the conversations are like between LaFleur and Hafley right now. The offense stunk, but arguably the defense stunk worse. Was it really as bad in their minds as it looked to all of us?
I agree with those who said Wooden was decent, and Kalen King too. Also, late in the game, Belton looked good along with the RB Johnson, of course.
And I still say Clifford over Elgersma.

Agree, he had an awful game in coverage. I didn't focus on him much, but I've read and seen replays like this one. It just goes back to my old mantra that if you run a 4.0 in the wrong direction you are REALLY out of position.

Playcalling didn't make guys drop passes or get called for holding. MLF hasn't called the plays in preseason games for several years.
The 2nd team defense was actually pretty good. The only points allowed when they were in there was a FG after Hardman handed the Jets the ball at the 7 yard line with a muffed punt.
Clifford is probably better right now. But Elgersma has more arm talent.

Pair of draft picks impress: First-round pick Matthew Golden converted a 3rd-and-7 with his first NFL catch, and he drew a pass interference penalty on Sauce Gardner to convert a second third down across two series of action. Fourth-round pick Barryn Sorrell led the defense with two quarterback hits during an active debut.
Amar Johnson shines: The rookie from South Dakota State showcased impressive burst and speed. He turned seven carries into 67 yards, including a 15-yard run and 39-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Johnson also had a 10-yard run negated by penalty in the first half. Maybe he can make a roster push over the next few weeks.
The Bad
Backup offensive line: The Packers committed five holding penalties, including three from second-year offensive lineman Jacob Monk, who struggled at both guard and center. Second-round pick Anthony Belton had a holding penalty, and so did roster hopeful Donovan Jennings. The Jets also produced four sacks, including three of Malik Willis. Operating as the second-team center, Sean Rhyan gave up the strip-sack that led to a Jets defensive touchdown.
Mecole Hardman: The veteran receiver dropped a pass, unwisely caught a punt in traffic inside the 5-yard line and muffed a punt off the bounce, resulting in a turnover. The punt he fielded inside the 5-yard line pinned the Packers deep and led to a strip-sack defensive touchdown. Saturday was a bad night for Hardman's roster chances.
Catching the football: Finishing catches was a big issue, continuing a trend from 2024. Romeo Doubs failed to convert his two contested catches. Hardman and Malik Heath had ugly drops. Israel Abanikanda dropped a screen. Julian Hicks had a ball go right through his hands.
The Ugly
The overall performance: The Packers' first-team defense gave up a touchdown drive to Justin Fields, while Jordan Love's offense punted to end both possessions. After the starters departed, the Packers didn't convert another third down the rest of the game. Green Bay was outgained 403 to 188 overall and finished with only 10 completions and 64 net passing yards. Matt LaFleur's team had seven penalties, two turnovers and four sacks allowed, while the Jets held the football for almost 39 minutes. The Jets dominated both the scoreboard and the box score; the Packers played poorly for all 60 minutes. Football is about blocking, catching the football and tackling, and the Packers struggled in all three areas.
Injury concerns: While no important starter was injured, the Packers didn't come out of the preseason opener without a few concerns. Jayden Reed was in a walking boot on the sideline after hurting his foot earlier in the week -- his Week 1 status could be in jeopardy. During the game, special teamer Zayne Anderson injured his knee in the first half and cornerback Corey Ballentine exited the game in the second half.

True about the playcalling. It did seem pretty unimaginative, though. As for the drops, that's actually kinda encouraging - exceptional bad crap that likely won't happen nearly that bad again, not to mention good it didn't happen in a game that counted.
Hopefully the D was intentionally unimaginative and will be a lot better when games count. I've got a generally good feeling about Hafley, so maybe.
I don't know what to think about Simmons. A lot of good has been said about him before the game. I was hoping for more of him and less of McDuffie. Now, maybe not.
Clifford is a decent thrower and very mobile. If Elgersma has any significant mobility, I haven't heard of it. That's why I favor Clifford. After this game, maybe keep both of them and ditch Willis hahahaha.
