I think Robinson will be on PS if he clears waivers.

I had no idea that someone with as much time in the league as Hardman could still be on a practice squad. Guess it's a recent rule change.

They are probably hoping that Robinson won't get claimed; probably part of the reason they kept him on the 53 initially.

I imagine Kristian Welch is bummed. Got displaced by another full-time ST guy from another team.

That was one of the changes last time around.

You can have one veteran on the practice squad and I think one player who can’t be pouched be another team.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I don't keep up on the rules so much any more, but if I recall correctly, a team can bring up guys from the PS for game day for a certain number of times a season? If that is the case, I wonder if they'll call up Hardman on game days just to return punts, or what. Not sure why they're keeping him on the PS outside of that - maybe waiting to see if Jayden Reed is healthy enough to play this week, returning (well, fair-catching) punts?

Okay, it's such a slam dunk that it's almost embarrassing to have to say it, but I will: the Packers' newest addition is, of course, Clayton "Car" Tune.

            Tune in for more later.

Tune was teammates with Matthew Golden and ran for a lot of yards in college. My guess is he's to give the team scout looks for JJ McCarthy, Caleb Williams and Lamar Jackson this year.
I know they will say they want to try and develop him, but he was... not good in his only start and was meh in preseason. Not the best under pressure, but maybe MLF can coach him up.

Packers have signed Corey Ballentine to the practice squad.

As of an hour or so ago, neither of the Johnson boys, Amar and Cornelius, had signed with anybody else. I would really like to see the Packers retain these two, especially Amar.

Somewhat overshadowed today was the Packers signing TE Josh Whyle to the practice squad Thursday. He's a 2023 5th round pick who caught 28 passes for 248 yards in 2024. Packers practice squad is now full.

I’ve seen little discussion on the practice squad QB, Clayton Tune.
Were Clifford and Elgersma so pathetic there was no reason to keep either?
                      What does Tune bring?
Not that it really matters if you are down to your 3rd string QB in a game.

The little I've read about Tune, he sounds sorta like Malik Willis.

I think they knew Clifford wasn't going to get any better. Some have suggested Elgersma's lack of mobility made him a bad fit on the scout team.

Packers have signed the other Micah (Robinson) to their practice squad.

Did you see Matty's interview when asked about the new QB; dude was pretty obviously irritated when basically asked how he's going to develop a new QB coming in. After bantering that he's not thinking about a guy whose not here yet, and flipping an "it is what it is"....pretty dam clear he wasn't too excited. Gutebag, however, I think feels the new QB is a much better prospect, long term, and wanted to make a change and let him get "coached up"...one of his fave terms.

It's clear Gutebag is in charge of personnell..etc...(not a bad thing but interesting)
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

GMs are always the final word. But most of them consult pretty closely with their coaches. I think this was more about MiLF advocating for Elgersma to get him on the roster only to have Gutes cut bait before MiLF could really have an impact on him.
