I was thinking about the Packers' weird, bright yellow last night as I lay in bed wide awake.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostPackers will be wearing Winter Warning uniforms and Steelers will be wearing...something.
Is it just me, or has that yellow gotten brighter (and more garish) over the years? As a kid, I recall the yellow being darker, more of a mustard color. Or maybe the TV sets were just not capable of transmitting the color correctly.
I see the same thing with the University of Michigan yellow - it used to be, well, darker yellow, as befitting the "Maize and Blue." Now it's "Garishly bright ugly yellow."
I'd like to see the Packers change that bright yellow. It's fucking cartoonish. So my idea is this: the Packers announce a "Ron Wolf Night" and introduce, for one game, the uniforms he proposed back in the 90's. The Packers wear them for that night, and now that people accept multiple kinds of uniforms (the backlash in the 90's against his idea was intense), eventually the Packers just make those the regular colors of the team. So what if it's a little Notre Damish? Everybody's wearing all kinds of crazy uniforms now, and Wolf's proposed color change brings some class back to the Pack.
Here's what Wolf proposed:
"The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

The yellow that Nixon is wearing in that picture is unusually bright. I've thought for a while the difference might be the type of material they use for the uniforms, which do look brighter. That said, my eyesight is "color-deficient", so things may look different to me. For years, I though the Bears home jerseys were black.Originally posted by Fritz View PostI was thinking about the Packers' weird, bright yellow last night as I lay in bed wide awake.

But the offensive line seems to be trending upward, healthwise, and to me that's more important. If they can get Josh Jacobs going, really going, Love can throw to Malik Heath and Romeo Doubs and Tucker Kraft, and maybe Luke Musgrave can finally get in on the action, too.
On an unrelated note, I see the Packers supposedly have been querying other teams about the availability of playmaking running backs. IF that is so, beyond not being thrilled with Emmanual Wilson, this would seem to suggest that the team is not sanguine about Marshmallow Lloyd getting back any time soon. Or being reliable, perhaps, more to the point."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

It's official: #Packers have activated WR Christian Watson off reserve/physically unable to perform. To make room on the 53 they released TE Ben Sims. They also elevated DE Arron Mosby from the practice squad to the active roster for game day. They will hang onto K Lucas Havrisik for another week.I can't run no more
