  • More Banjo - Packers vs Eagles

    Jordan Love - 20-26, 176, sacked 3 times.

Josh Jacobs - 74 yards rushing, 1 TD, 1 fumble

Both teams under 300 yards total offense

Did not see the game, so I have nothing else.

    Discuss. If you wish.

We finally have the defense we have not had since 1997 and it's getting wasted.

MaLF is a head case, he can't get the team ready for big games. We've seen him fail, over and over and over.

WTF was with all of the shotgun? Didn't he learn that last year? To run Jacobs have Love under center?

I mostly try to be rational and not post emotionally but I don't think MaLF can get this team to the promised land.

Whatever they were trying to do in the passing game in the first half was not working for Love or the O line. Deeper drops, almost unbelievably, worked better in the second half. Suggests the problem for Love with the current setup is still inside pressure.

Rhyan was not half bad at Center. This might be why he's still on the roster. Banks picked it up in the second half. Bad penalties for him and Walker though.

I don't think Jacobs can be relied upon for picking up blitzing linebackers anymore. His shoulder plunge into them doesn't stop anything.

If Aikman was correct and McManus was honest, he shouldn't have been kicking until much closer to full health. Aikman said McManus said his quad was starting to finally feel healthy this week. Ugh.

The D can still be had in the running game and Parsons lost contain on a big play, but man can these guys close it up on their side of the field. You could win with this group.

Valentine is growing into the role. Nixon, for all his faults and lack of top level athleticism, just won't give up. They need a talent infusion but I like watching them play.

Quay Walker might have passed Cooper as the more effective ILB. He's making a bit more of a splash though Cooper can still get to the sideline like no one's business.

Williams and Bullard showed up today.

Playing prevent D should be investigated by the gambling taskforce for mucking with the spread.

MLF has a mixed bag on offense in terms of health and talent now. I understand the struggle to a degree. What I do not understand are the dumb mistakes and penalties continuing year after year. Even the defense has mostly stopped shooting itself in its own foot. Dom Capers Jr. (Vic Fangio) really had LaFleur's number in the first half.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Love had a lot of trouble passing when starting under center after play action early. The middle pressure was getting to him even faster then because of the delay.

It is just a night and day difference at OL between these teams. Packers need to improve on the line.

I put most of the blame on this Eagles loss and the Panthers loss on Lafleur’s shoulders like you do.
He’s beginning to look out to lunch with predictable play calling that just isn’t creative at all. Jordan Love isn’t to blame, it’s our Head Coach.

            Very, very frustrating to watch.

this. And the oline's bad play has to be laid at the feet of the head coach. Last year they weren't good and this year is worse with better players. This is the worst OL since I've started watching Green Bay; that's a coaching problem, and better eyes than mine have been saying it for more than a year -- technique and discipline are bad.

I would take Jordon Love over Hurts, and it's not close. Eagles are not great this year (their own coaching problems imo); this should have been a win. This week the oline was a sieve on too many plays, whereas Phili's line was respectable against us. Carolina, missing two starters looked all pro against us. That's coaching. And I remember Stenovich saying, around week three this year, that the oline would be playing well by week 10.... I just realized that it's week ten. oops

MLF looks like he is calling plays for a different offense, one where the oline is assignment-sure and the receivers run the right routes. With the oline doing doing as bad as they are, the play calls should be adjusted to get the ball out quicker. He also needs to go into the receiver room and light a fire under the coaching, literally if necessary, to get the receivers to the right thing on every play.

Love may well not be the answer, but with the rest of the offense screwing up so often, it's hard to tell.

Packers D held Saquon Barkley to 60 yards. Stunning.

Have lost games giving up 13, 16, and 10 points.
This is all on MLF and the offense.

Good Lord. On that 4th and 1 run Morgan gets knocked 3 yards into the backfield. Jacobs had to go around him. https://x.com/i/status/1988123777276817860

Morgan is not a Guard. Tackle is his position.

Good post. I saw that play and I thought "He's literally executing a pass pro set"

If they're gonna run the ball inside, they need guards with a mauler mindset.

The problem with tempo is that the limited play list makes it easier to guess. Eagles called the play live before the Packers ran it on the short yardage failure.

Highest paid (?) QB in the NFL and you have bums on the OL.

Morgan is the LT with quick feet, and that cement truck they drafted in the RT.

Elgton is gonna get cut or restructured.

                              Banks is gonna get cut.

There's a lot of room for improvement on the line for sure.
