Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich is reportedly a name to watch as a potential Sherrone Moore replacement at Michigan.

According to FootballScoop’s John Brice, Stenavich — a Michigan graduate who has been the Packers’ offensive coordinator since 2022 — has “steadily maintained being prepared” for an opportunity to be the Wolverines’ head coach. Michigan fired Moore on Wednesday with cause after an internal investigation found he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. Moore was later detained by police as part of an investigation into an alleged assault in Pittsfield Township.

Brice said that Stenavich has earned “widespread praise” for his work with Packers quarterback Jordan Love. That could be good news for Bryce Underwood, who has completed 61.1% of his passes for 2,229 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions as a true freshman. Underwood has also rushed for 323 yards and five touchdowns on 4.4 yards per carry.

“He’s honed his career under Kyle Shanahan and Matt LaFleur and ‘is the highest-paid non-play calling’ OC anywhere in the NFL,” Brice wrote of Stenavich. “In other words, the Packers value him immensely.”

The one thing a head coach as play caller does give you is consistency. Otherwise, if your team is good, you have both coordinators getting poached like the Eagles every year.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I would honestly be surprised if Michigan hired a low profile candidate with no real track record as a head coach.

LaFleur calls the plays for the Packers, doesn't he? I always considered Stenavich just a puppet or whatever, same as pretty much any Coordinator whose head coach handles the side of the ball he coordinates. Stenavich was apparently a pretty good position coach for the O Line, but nothing special as an OC. I think if he goes, the Packers could do better.

He was a great OL coach

As an OC....well.....let him go to Michigan
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

That would not be a sexy enough pick for the Michigan fan and donor base, I don't think.

I am not much of a fan of the Wolverine football program any more. I couldn't stand Jim Harbaugh - Mr. Two-face cheater guy, and I don't care that they won a national championship. And now Sherrone Moore . . . jesus, what a fucking disaster. And don't tell me that university didn't know anything. They're not innocents. That Michigan AD is complicit - look at all the scandals on his watch. The only time I root for Michigan in football now is when they play Ohio State. But when they play the Purdues or the Northwesterns, I root for those underdogs.

Anyway. I don't think they'll hire Stenavich. Unless he's the only candidate who can prove he isn't blasting young girls (or boys) on the side.

There is some talk though that Michigan might want to get away from any connections to the Harbaugh regime, including the AD who was there for all but the 1st year of Harbaugh's tenure. Stenavich is a Michigan guy whose time at Michigan preceded Harbaugh. Not saying he's a favorite, but Michigan may be looking for someone who can restore some semblance of character after the stench left by Harbaugh and Moore.
