  • Official Packers at bears Gameday Thread

Saturday games always feel off. Likely many of us plan our fall and winter schedule around Sundays. Can’t be too far from a way of knowing what the score is or the final result. As the season progresses we get our hopes very high or very low. Never seems to be some happy middle of contentment. The most likely reality is the season won’t end well which has been the case every year there is not a championship won. Well, that’s the point of all this for me at least.

If we as fans get so invested, it must be very hard as a player having all your hard work not materialize. This season has been a hell of a ride. Very promising start with some very big disappointments has made it feel like more than four losses. Plus that damn tie! But somehow someway with the nine wins, the Packers are still in contention for the number one in the division and even the conference. Today’s game is when that changes one way or the other. This is finally a real must win. Losing makes playoff elimination possible and kisses the division goodbye. Couldn’t have come at a worse time with all the major injuries. Just how life goes it seems.

Can the defense stop that slippery mofo Caleb from running all over the place and making wild plays? Can the offense move the ball without Watson stretching the field? Can Love make enough plays with all the pressure? I’m not the analyst so many of you are but do have concerns. We will ride it out together because the fat lady has not sang for 2025.

But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Temperatures will be steady around 29. Winds NW switching to SW 15-20 MPH, gusts up to 30. Kicking game and long passing game could be affected.

I'm shit for predicting the future. Absolute shit.

But does that stop me? No, it does not.

I predict a blowout - though on which side I cannot say. I can easily imagine the Packers, deflated, coming out flat, and da Bears sky high and running roughshod over the Packers. The middle of the Packer defense exposed as weak, and no Parsons to create havoc on pass plays. Halfley tries to keep Caleb Williams in the pocket, and he does, but Williams has time, hits receivers, and the Bears shove it down the Packers' throats.

OR . . . the Packers surprise everyone and come out swinging. Halfley unleased Edgerrin Cooper and Quay Walker and has calls some funky blitzes that fuck Caleb Williams up. The defense is energized, no longer waiting on Micah Parsons to do the work. Van Mess plays only fifteen or twenty snaps, but is crazy effective. Brenton Cox shows he can stuff the run and get pressure on the QB. Love and Co. pass and run like crazy, and Bears fans are dazed, once again, as their team gets run over.

Which means it will be a close game. I don't know shit.

But goddamnit, I want the Packers to win the Super Bowl this year. But what would be harder - beating da Bears again, winning the division, and having to face them (albeit at home) in the first round of the playoffs, or being the sixth or seventh seed and having to face them in Chicago after you lost the second game? Fuck.

Zach Tom and Evan Williams will be out today, per @JayGlazer

Jacobs is pushing to go, while Watson is expected to be active.

I have a hunch that Brenton Cox is going to have a positive effect in this game.

I'ma try to be looking REAL close at the Packers Defensive Tackles tonight. I think a win or loss runs through them.

As a side note: I am kinda excited for frickin' "Saturday Night Football" for some reason. I don't really enjoy the NFL expanding to every day except Tuesdays, but tonight I'm good with the schedule change.

I guess that means these four dudes on particular:

Karl Brooks, Colby Wooden, Jordon Riley, Warren Brinson

Snackhouse and copa, copa Bohannon are inactive apparently.
