      Zero sacks.

      2 turnovers.

      Terrible in the red zone.

      Special teams blunder.

Defense stopped nothing late giving up 16 points .

We may make the playoffs, but this story always has the same ending

What game did you watch? Lightbody got some pressures. Played hard. He just ain’t Parsons.

Nixon had his worst game of the season. Probably should be benched next week for Hobbs.

            DUD

GUTEBAG---How do we not have a starting caliber CB ?
FLOWER---SITUATIONS AND PLAYCALLING ON SHORT YARDGE PLAYS...4th and 1--Kick the ball if you don't have the confidence that Jacobs can get a yard....3rd and 1 in ABSOLUTE SHIT CALL on play action pass. Run the ball or Tush Push. The 4th and 1 fumble right after that play....classic way to highlight how shitty that 3rd and 1 call
BRINSON---3rd and 20...that Facemask penalty saved the Bears

How the Fck did we lose. ROMEO...CHOKE JOB there as well..ahhh

The sad part is, we are probably going to run it back next year with same shit corners.

Fumble and settling for a FG on the last scoring drive. And Doubs just having a meltdown trying to secure the onside kick. He was clean, he had time. He just biffed it completely.

I can't fault Brinson for trying to bring down Williams by his head before he escaped again. Defense did its job except the blitz strategy started to backfire late. It very much looked like the 2024 Defense without Parsons especially late.

Edited to add: Forgot the red zone woes. Probably the reason for the late FG, dooming the effort. But you need the TuDs to win Matt.

Keisean Nixon's passer rating allowed when targeted:

                    vs. Broncos: 158.3
                    vs. Bears: 135.4

The Bostick trophy has been gathering dust for many years now.
It looks like Doubs has distinguished himself enough at yesterday’s game to win this coveted award.

Yeah, its been a little brutal. The entire defensive seconday is constructed to play zone. When they can't its a mess.

I am SO glad I did not watch that clusterfuck shitshow last night. Wow.It would bring back the trauma of the 2014 Seattle playoff game.

Plenty of blame to go around! Two turnovers, The Bostick Biff, Etc, etc.

This could be the beginning of folding up the tent for this year. That's the most likely outcome. They win one of their last two, maybe both, depending on how badly Love's concussion was, maybe they sneak in to the playoffs, first round loss, etc.

However. I do remember going to see the Packers play the Lions in Detroit in 2010. Packers looked lost and the underdog Loins slapped the Pack down good. After the game, my buddy and I were walking out, shaking our heads, while Lions' fans taunted us. And that was the beginning of the Super Bowl run.

So maybe, just maybe, this loss galvanizes this team and they get that "fuck it, we're doing this" attitude and they turn it around and get hot. Probably not. But you don't know yet.

Felt a whole lot like the Seahawks NFCG loss... heartbreaking.

That said, I thought the D rose to the occasion without Parsons and Wyatt. They didn't cost us the game.

Regardless of what some think, we have a QB who is capable of playing at an MVP, at least some of the time. And a backup that can put the team on his shoulders.

Some of the newer OL seem to be finding their groove.

The years not done yet, but even when it is, lots to be excited about when our stars are back healthy next year.

I still don't know what to make of MLF.

I figured this whole bit about the Banjo check belonged in the More Banjo thread.

The Bears lined up in tight splits, which makes it very easy to beat man coverage by criss-crossing routes.

Usually, these defensive backs have to recognize the situation, make a “Banjo” check (you’ll often see players pretend to strum a banjo to communicate that). This means that if the players do cross each other, the outside cornerback will just take the outside route and the slot defender will take the inside route, rather than playing true man coverage.

Both players ended up on the outside receiver running the slant (Nixon blew the Banjo check, if it was called; Hobbs blew the man coverage, if they didn’t make the Banjo check) and neither covered the wide open receiver running a corner route.
