I'm not gonna knock Doubs too much, as he is a damn good player that we definitely should make sure we retain. However, no two ways about it, he did turn sure victory into defeat.

And hell yeah about the total lack of even borderline decent Corners. I said that even when Nixon made that pick and was treated like a hero. Valentine, who ought to be about a 4th Corner is the best you've got, it's pretty bad.

I'm gonna say something I don't recall ever saying before: the Packers O Line played good, both opening holes on runs and pass blocking. Belton was damn good; Morgan was surprisingly good; Banks earned at least a small part of the massive money he's getting paid; And except for that glaringly bad snap (either his fault or Willis) Rhyan was good too.

I was cussing at the TV about Quay early in pass coverage, saying they should use him on the blitz where he could do less harm. All in all, though, he stepped up and looked good.

It's hard to knock Hafley, as overall the Packer defense as he designed it was more than decent. But WHY does he persist in leaving those pathetic Corners out on an island. I get it, we need blitzing, but even when we had Parsons, it was like that.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

I agree with you about Gary. I also agree, Nixon should be benched or worse, but everything I've seen of Hobbs, he ain't any better. They ought to give that kid Hadden a try. Also, they ought to change things up and give the Corners some help - Safetys or whatever.

The play of the OL was brutal....guys just getting thrown around. Looked like the Bears has resurrected Reggie White at times. Just don't get how Gute can pay a guy all that money to play QB then throw an OL out there like that.

If it wasn't for bad luck, this team would have no luck.

That said, I thought the D rose to the occasion without Parsons and Wyatt. They didn't cost us the game.

Regardless of what some think, we have a QB who is capable of playing at an MVP, at least some of the time. And a backup that can put the team on his shoulders.

Some of the newer OL seem to be finding their groove.

The years not done yet, but even when it is, lots to be excited about when our stars are back healthy next year.

I still don't know what to make of MLF.

I was not watching him exclusively (was the plan but other things intervened – injuries) however Morgan seemed OK at RT. I don't know if he distinguished himself in run blocking (I didn't see any whiffs but there were a lot of 1 and 2 yard runs) but his pass pro looked like it survived the time at guard. Saw him get beat cleanly once with a club move and surrender pressure too quickly, otherwise he seemed to fight reasonably well. The QBs save for a couple plays including the injury had time to find receivers.

A backup QB with no hand off issues is a backup QB who is probably in shotgun a lot which is what I think happened on that fumble in OT. Fixable but also very preventable it seems.

Was a little disappointed the run game wasn't better but I think Jacobs is really hurting. Wilson looked far more likely to break one open.

However, I cannot abide deriding the defense over this loss. They played beautifully. The offense once again in a late season situation just flubbed it and against a medicore D. Dennis Allen is the DC for crying out loud. Its maddening seeing the offense trip over its own feet time and again.

The attraction of making it a two score game is obvious, but what is also obvious is that with your current defense you cannot play man well enough (even against a devastated Bear WR corp) to turn Williams loose in a game about to become high variance (all passing). Not enough pass rush and they had to Cover 0 blitz seven to get a free rusher at times. The Bear game plan was doing the Packers D a favor by focusing on the run.

They needed a TD on that drive dammit.

We also need a volunteer this offseason to teach Musgrave how to run with a ball in his hands. He appears to have forgotten.

Perhaps you missed the commentary where Brady pointed out that the Packers were giving corners help and in return were leaving parts of the middle of the field vulnerable.

When the Bears had to pass and the Packers had to blitz, the matchup tilted in favor of the Bears.

Lots of great (albeit hard-to-read) morning-after analysis after the Packers loss to the Bears in Chicago. The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman has some of the sharpest, pointing out the fact that Green Bay wakes up today in a familiar if not ironic spot: once again needing Aaron Rodgers to fluff the Pack’s postseason chances as he leads his Steelers against the Lions this afternoon. He also serves up some sobering math: “The Packers have five losses and a tie this season. In four of those losses, Green Bay led by 10, three, nine and 10 points. In their Week 4 tie against the Dallas Cowboys, the Packers led by 13. In both a Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns and Saturday night’s loss to the Bears, the Packers’ 10-point lead was with less than four minutes remaining in the game,” the last one blown amid what he deems “a comedy of self-inflicted errors.” Schneidman concludes that “the Packers must now ensure their playoff spot doesn’t slip away, too, or things could get really interesting in Green Bay.”
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

Per MLF, Willis has a shoulder injury. Didn't say which shoulder.

Clayton Tune is the practice squad QB.

The Green Bay Packers signed QB Clayton Tune to the practice squad on August 28, 2025.

Tune (6-3, 220) is a third-year player out of the University of Houston who was originally selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fifth round (No. 139 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played in 13 games with one start in two seasons for the Cardinals, completing 14 of 23 passes (60.9 pct.) for 70 yards with two interceptions while also posting 26 rushing yards and a TD on 15 carries. In college, he was a three-time team captain (2020-22) who played in 47 games with 44 starts and finished No. 2 in school history in career TD passes (104) and TDs responsible for (119) and No. 3 with 956 completions.

It’s been a shit run. Kraft, Parsons, Wyatt. Three of your best players gone for the year.

Brady gets a lot of things wrong. Hafley chose to blitz. I'm not gonna say that was a mistake, but the pass rushers didn't succeed in getting a sack or not very often forcing a throwaway. I hesitate to second guess Hafley, but they sure didn't have anybody helping poor pathetic Nixon on those two crucial TD passes as well as several other plays where our Corners failed.

The Packers were getting pretty good pressure on Williams with that "cage rush" as the commentators called it. They still didn't have the ability to cover, though.

Favre woulda got right back in the game, maybe Rodgers too. Steve Young, Aikman, a lot of other QBs have done that. I'm certainly NOT blaming Love, but seeing him walk off the field, I'm confident he coulda and woulda played on. However, it was the stupid hyper-safety crap that gets pushed these days that prevented it. I can't say that safety stupidity cost the Packers the game because Willis came through so well, but who's to say Love wouldn't have done better.

I'll wait for the usual suspects to chime in and defend that safety crap hahahaha.

Morgan almost got Willis killed on the last play of regulation. Morgan fell on his ass and Willis injured his shoulder getting sacked.

Derek Fucking Sherrod all over again. German Shepherd shoulda drafted the “white” corner, Dejean.
