  • Should the A-Team Play In Week 18?

Sometimes it’s good for the mind and body to escape the grind. Forget about game planing for the Queens in what is essentially a meaningless game.

The Packers are prone to self-destruction. All of their losses are the byproduct of self-destruction. Game winning FGs getting blocked. Pooping out rocks in the clutch. Not recovering onside kicks. Dropping rocks like it’s hot. Throwing goddamn picks. Self-destruction. Gotta annihilate self-destruction.

A two weeks darkness retreat would do wonders for the Packers.

Probably can't rest all the starters, but injured guys and best starters should sit.

I rest my case on the tender knee of Josh Jacobs.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Yep, Josh should rest. If Love is a go, I'd give him 3-4 series if you intend on playing him in the playoffs. Personally I'd give him the rest of the season off so he doesn't get another concussion and hurt his trade value.

Anyone who played last week and is banged up should sit, or basically anyone who can benefit from resting should rest. A few series so rust doesn't set in for guys who missed last week might be ok, but mostly rest up and beat the bears in round 1....and make sure someone spears Caleb right in the mug. I mean for 15 yards and $5800 its well worth it to knock out the starter. Just ask the Bears.

Seriously? 7 to 1 AGAINST winning this game? Shame on ya'all!

The poll is flawed, as it doesn't say a word about winning the division and getting a home playoff game.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

There is a reason for that. In order to win the Division, the Packers needed to win both remaining games. The failed to win against the Ravens. Hence ...

Explanation to why this site has been experiencing the “too many requests” glitch is revealed. It ain’t because Bobble is clogging up cyberspace by posting at Packerrats while simultaneously browsing Pornhub. It’s because Tex is posting from another universe.

In Tex’s universe the Packers still have a shot at the division. And in Tex’s universe, Musgrave and Gary are on IR instead of Kraft and Parsons.

The thing is (as you know) you can't rest everybody - are you going to play, say, Jacob Monk at center, Donovan Jennings at a guard spot, Jordan Morgan at right tackle and then put Malik Willis behind center? (That was a rhetorical question, not a dig at you.)

Since you can't rest everyone, who then are the most important players to rest? I'd agree with you about Jacobs - there's no need for him to play a single snap on Sunday. Then, as you said, whoever is hurt worst should sit. I'm guessing Zach Tom would benefit by sitting. Maybe Evan Williams, if he's still hurting? And for god's sake, use Christian Watson sparingly. Sparingly. Give him a few snaps and sit his ass down.

And do you play Carrington Valentine or Nate Hobbs outside? Hobbs - hurt again, or still - and Valentine embarrassed himself as a football player for his unwillingness to tackle.

Right. I am not in the clubhouse, so I don't know if Tom is fully recovered after a week off. If I were inside the team I'd assess who actually NEEDS some rest and will benefit from it. I think we all agree Jacobs needs some recovery before the playoffs, even from outside looking in. So anyone who has a lingering issue that can improve from a week off should sit. Guys who are fine will have to play. And if we insist on playing Love in the playoffs he needs a few series. I don't want him sitting nearly 4 weeks and then counting on him to be sharp.

Ok, I change my vote. However, it's still a shame to just give up and lose to a hated team like the Vikings. I agree, sit Jacobs, Tom, and E. Williams assuming they aren't 100% and rest will help. Willis probably could benefit from the rest more than Love. I'd play Love part of the game anyway, as sitting too many weeks is not that good a thing. I'd also use Watson, Doubs, and Reed sparingly given their history.

The problem is, the God damned Vikings don't have anything to rest up for and will be playing to win.

If you think about it Packers kinda owe the vikings because they backed the Packers into the playoffs by beating the lions since the Packers haven’t been able to win games for themselves.

I guess this could be true, but does it have to be? Maybe the Vikings want a better draft position.
