    That one still baffles me though he has never really found a home. Buffalo let him go after a year and change.

    He's good enough to start for CB weak teams but not good enough to pay bigger money. Basically, if he is on your team, you apparently need to replace him. Gute got that wrong; he didn't have the horses.

      During the 2 years when Ridder went 8-9 as Atlanta's starter, they were 6-11 when someone else started. (Marcus Mariota, Taylor Heinicke). Ridder was drafted 74th overall in the 2022 draft. Willis 86th.

      I'm not saying Ridder is definitely as good, but I'd be interested to see if Packers could develop him as they did Willis.

        Trevon Diggs, the Passer Rating Against that led to the belief he wouldn't be signed (on Twitter anyway)

          I believe his contract was up and he was over 30. But we could have used him for the 1.5 reasonably priced seasons more than a 3rd minus a 5th. If he were on the team for the playoffs when we dealt him we might have hoisted another Lombardi....we'll never know for sure.

            He was never in the same stratosphere as Willis. I'm just basing that on his physical tools. Maybe he is a genius at reading defenses.

                LOL. When I first saw the signing I thought his name had an L in it.

                    Well, I would like to see them play with some fire. They seem to have lost that along the way this season. It's injuries, sure. But it's part attitude, and the last few weeks, they've been the old "let's show up and hope someone on the team wins it for us."

                    Don't make JJ McCarthy look like a rising star. Put him in the ashcan of NFL history this Sunday.

                      @TomSilverstein

                      #Packers have signed WR Jakobie Keeney-James and G/C Lecitus Smith from the PS to the active roster, placed G/T Donovan Jennings (throat) and WR Savion Williams (foot) on injured reserve, and elevated TE Drake Dabney and LB Jamon Johnson from the PS to the gameday roster.

                      @TomSilverstein

                      Incidentally, this means QB Desmond Ridder won't be in uniform and that either Jordan Love, Malik Willis or maybe Jayden Reed (???) will be Clayton Tune's backup.

                      @AndyHermanNFL

                      My best guess for GB’s depth chart:

                      QB: Tune | Willis

                      RB: Wilson | Brooks

                      WR: Golden | Melton | Keeney-James | Doubs | Reed

                      TE: Whyle | Musgrave | Dabney

                      OL: Morgan | Smith | Monk | Belton | Kinnard
                      Backups: Rhyan | Banks | Walker

                      DE: Cox | Sorrell | Mosby | Oliver

                      DT: Brinson | Ford | Stackhouse | Brooks | Wooden

                      LB: McDuffie | Hopper | Johnson | Quay | Cooper

                      CB: Diggs | Valentine | Bartholomew | Simpson | Melton

                      S: Oladapo | Baldwin | Simpson | Bullard | Williams

                        Ya know...

                        One very simple yet rarely discussed thing to like about the Packers waiver claim acquisition of veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs is:

                        His initials are TD

                        Very football, much NFL.

                          Draft Kings now has the point spread up to 10.5. Packers +425 on moneyline.

                            That seems ridiculous, given that the Packers are playing the "B" team and the Vikes are at home.

                            I reallly, really want to see the offensive line and defensive line play better than they did last week. An abysmal showing by either line would throw me into despair.

                              Vikings are favored by 10.5. Packers +425 means if you bet 100 on Packers and they win, you win 425.

                                Oh . . . I misread your post. I saw the words "up" and "Packers" and the number "10.5" and completely misinterpreted. I get it now.

                                And it makes a whole lot more sense.
