New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault from an alleged incident on Dec. 2.

A motion hearing took place at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday at the Dedham (Massachusetts) District Court. WCVB-TV reports that a judge is deciding whether to impound the court documents ahead of Diggs' arraignment Jan. 23, which is the Friday before the AFC Championship Game.

"The New England Patriots are aware of the accusations that have been made regarding Stefon Diggs. Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon," the Patriots said in a statement. "We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary. Out of respect for all parties involved, and given that this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time."

Diggs' attorney, David Meier, said in a statement that the allegations are "unsubstantiated."

"Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations. They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated -- because they did not occur. The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee's satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to establishing the truth in a court of law," Meier said.

According to the Boston Globe, Diggs' lawyer, Michael R. DiStefano, said there would be "substantial risk of widespread publicity" that could taint the case without keeping all details sealed.

Diggs' defense team said it's working on a monetary resolution to the incident, according to the Globe.

"We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club," the NFL said in a statement. "We have no further comment at this time."

Had Diggs just choked his chicken he could have avoided all that.

What do ya bet his brother ends up a Packer in time for the playoffs?

I could tell ya why poor Stefon is getting persecuted/prosecuted, but I'd get suspended for the evil p word. Hint: it has to do with NM.

Okay, I’m trying to unravel the mystery. “The evil ‘p’ word can only mean Percocet . And everybody knows the post office abbreviation “NM” stands for New Mexico. Yet having unraveled the code, I am still confused.

No and No. I should have said the evil p word in Packerrats - the thing that gets people suspended. NM = person, not place. My wife told me about this.

Implying it is just as good a reason to end up one and done. Why don’t you understand that?

TBH, I thought “the evil ‘p’ word” meant pussy. I figured maybe it was a sexual harrassment claim.

But apparently not. And now I don’t wanna know.

Okay, back to thread topic: looks like the Pack gets either the Iggles or Bears in round one. Does it matter?

I only saw tex quoted, but if it directly pertains to why diggs was cut I would think it should be allowed. Debating the topic not so much. I'm actually curious now.

Stefon Diggs wasn't cut but his brother the CB was. tex is referring to Stefon though. I think I parsed NM, if you wish to know send me a PM.

                      No idea on 'p'.

I got some bad info from my wife. It shoulda said CB, not NM. I don't know how she coulda mixed up the two - it's like an a fat O Lineman mistaken for a sleek Wide Receiver. That mistake ruins the whole premise about NM and the p word. Sorry. I guess I'll have to give my wife some strangulation.

If ya'all don't know what CB and NM mean, look up Stefon Diggs GF hahahahaha.

No one‘s asking anyone’s opinion about what should be allowed here. To broach the subject when you have TPBs posts block is even more ridiculous. Pnce again I ask that you drop the subject.

TPB - Are you proud of yourself? Should be, you just got an entire section removed from this website. The topic of politics will now be completely banned here. You just won the championship for entitled behavior. Do it again and you will be inducted into the HoF.
