Packers gonna get smoked next week and rightfully so. What are you doing resting literally everyone?? Not a fan.

Trying to avoid what happened last year when Love and Watson got hurt in a meaningless game.

I'm okay with it. I wonder if it might have the added benefit (besides avoiding injury to major players not named Bo Melton) of giving the starters a chance to stand back and watch and reflect and maybe get their heads on right for next week.

I think if they bring their "A" game they can beat the Bears or the Eagles. I do.

As for today, I was amazed at how many backups were on the field. I thought he'd rest some starters, but I did not realize there were enough backups available so that he hardly had to play any starters. I saw Evan Williams out there a bit, Kesean Nixon, but that was about all. And Belton on offense, with cameos by Jayden Reed. But man, there were backups-to-the-backups playing out there.

I didn't think the defense was too terrible. I think Sorrell showed enough to warrant some playoff playing time. Brinson did a couple decent things. Oladapo made a few reasonable plays. Hopper did not stand out. Oliver showed some real Kabeer Gbaja-Bijamila type of speed.

On offense, I thought Jacob Monk held his own at center once he settled in. Jordan Morgan didn't look great, but he wasn't a tire fire. No idea who played left guard. The line played better as the game went on. But Matthew Golden played like he wasn't playing. Two drops? What? The guy with supposedly the best hands on the team?

I still can't believe how deep down the bench The Flower went. And honestly, he didn't look terribly invested today, did he?

On the other side, JJ McCarthy looks like a beaten man to me. He kept on apologizing to his teammates, and for a guy playing against the not-even-quite-B-squad, he didn't play well at all. He had a few good throws, but in spite of the announcers' attempts to cover for him and pretend the Vikes are still evaluating him, surely they will move on from McCarthy, if not next season than the one after. Hell, they could well go after Willis. I think McCarthy is broken and unfixable. My opinion.

The main thing I took from this game is that whether or not they keep Gary, I think you'll see a lot of Sorrell next year (or maybe next week). I'm a little surprised a QB who has been on the Packers PS all year seemed so unready to run an NFL offense. Maybe MLF was protecting him because Flores likes to blitz so much. He showed some mobility but no pocket presence.

Vikings beat our practice squad. Big Whoop.

            Reboot the season.

See if Pookie can put the team on his back.

            Let's rock.

Tune was horrible, even for a 3rd string QB. Clifford would have been better.

Tune was useless, but the craptastic line did him no favors either.

Bill Huber of Packers on SI reports that Bullard says his knee is fine.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I was pleased with how Trevon Diggs played, considering he only had two days of light practive with the Packers:

"The cornerback played 18 coverage snaps, ending the game with a 76.3 PFF coverage grade (highest on the team), one stop, and a 56.3 passer rating when targeted."

                      True. Diggs looked fairly decent.

Morgan didn't suck playing his 9th position this year. He didn't dominate either though. I liked the rookie EDGE guys.
