The 1990 Salute to Peanuts was confusing?Originally posted by RandsRevenge View PostFor me that happened after "Up with People"
I missed the Super Bowl VIII Salute to the Carribean somehow.
I forgot they did a Salute to Indiana Jones and the Forbidden Eye. In 1995.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Last year had some required reading: https://www.billboard.com/lists/drak...ade-freestyle/Originally posted by Teamcheez1 View PostThis will be the second year in a row I can’t understand any of the words or know any of the songs by the halftime performers.

I c confess I didn't see them all. Our Super Bowl Party tradition was to play football in the yard or street at halftime.Originally posted by pbmax View PostThe 1990 Salute to Peanuts was confusing?

Very true. Or when young, call your grandfather and make a bet for a quarter on the team that had the lead.Originally posted by RandsRevenge View PostI c confess I didn't see them all. I think this is a good point.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostELIOTT WOLF the gm makes the Super Bowl before gutebag
John Schneider is fabulous as well
The Packers had Schneider. If Mark Murphy had moved more quickly to relieve an ailing Ted Thompson of his duties, could Schneider have stayed and been the GM for Green Bay? I don't know the timeline very well, but I wonder if there was ever an opportunity for Schneider to be the Packer GM. Plus, Schneider's done it twice with two different coahces. And Elliott Wolfe, yes, he could have been chosen as the Packer GM, but was not.
And we have Guter, who misses on a lot of early-round picks. A lot. Where you'd think your odds of hitting would be higher.
Good point, Bretsky. Ouch. Both GM's could've, I think, been Green Bay's choice."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Schneider became Seattle's GM in 2010, one year before Packers won Super Bowl. He was with the Packers when Ted Thompson was hired as GM.
Wolf left Green Bay after Gute got the GM job in 2018. He became Patriots GM in 2024 after becoming their director of scouting in 2022.I can't run no more

My point was perhaps lost because I'm raging over another Badgers getting boned by Green Bay.
I pounded the table, endlessly for Eliott Wolf over Gutebag. And I don't really care if it was many years ago. My position hasn't changed one bit.
And John Schneider is about the best in the business. I might have to look back at the timing to see if he was there to be hired.
Green Bay tends to keep pieces for TOO long and because of it we lose out on some of the best replacementsTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

I never knew this part; but heard it on the radio. Ron Wolf, obviously thought his son should get the job over Shitbag.
After we hired Gutebag he was upsate, sold his house in Green Bay and skipped town for goodTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Snyder wasn't afraid to cut bait with a prima donna QB and go with a retread on a solid, but not stupid contract. Thats the model to winning in my book. He did it with Geno Smith, but Geno didn't have Darnold's arm talent imo.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Nothing to do with that (and it would be "political" if it were). I like all types of music and don't give a rat's ass what a singers beliefs are. I just think the NFL has sold out to the ratings gods by keeping games as close as possible for excitements sake.Originally posted by Fosco33 View PostIf it’s just because of halftime - you can skip that part. I always do.
I can't decide if this is going to be a game where Seattle gets called for holding a few times to keep it close since I don't think NE can put up many points on them, or do they get called for PI a few times so NE can get some points to keep it close. I do want a bet on the game, but just can't decide. I'll probably take the points because if the NFL won't allow a blowout thats the bet.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi
