I enjoyed this column on Brett Favre in the wake of the Packers win at DEtroit yesterday by Mitch Albom of the Detroit Free Press (famous as the author of Tuesdays with Morrie, among other things), and thought you might, too:

Outward appearances to the uninitiated. That's all.Originally posted by chewy-baccaThis was his first victory of what surely is his last season,
now why go and say something like that, wishfull thinking?
Other than that, its a fine tribute story."Greatness is not an act... but a habit.Greatness is not an act... but a habit." -Greg Jennings

This quote had to hurt to write...
One of the best lines in the story:
"Brett Favre has been around so long, he should be photographed in sepia. And yet after his news conference, he walked through the tunnels and asked an AP reporter, 'Is there anything to eat around here?'
You mean besides our team?"Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

My first thought was that it was wishful thinking but then writers aren't suppose to be fans, are they...

sentiment you'd never see in chicago. chicago is so stricken with favre envy its ridiculous.
one error in albom's article. after beating detroit yesterday albom claim favre's 20-9 record vs the lions was his best against any team. not true. he's 21-8 vs the bears....Always respect your opponent, even when you're kicking the crap outta him.
