Not sticking with the running game in the 2nd half is what really baffled me.

Little (Taush) got lucky coming around the corner and knocked it out of Favre's hand (as he went back to throw) - he then got jacked by the DT. Colledge missed the recovery but ultimately it was a fluke play at a horrible time.

We lost the turnover battle - simple as that. 3 missed INTs and two key fumbles lost this game.
Woulda helped if Koren had caught those passes as well. He had a few drops on the day, though on some of them he was covered up pretty well.
Both DD and GJ had multiple drops today - Jenning's drop at the end of the game was huge.

If we come close with so much inexperience, won't we be good when the young guys have 1 or 2 years under their belt?

That would be the plan. Hey, at least we're improving. [/optimism]

At what point did Moll replace Spitz? Maybe that has something to do with shying away from such a sucessful run game in the 1st half..

              • I thought Moll and Spitz were supposed to be rotating this game.

                • Packers have now lost 7 fumbles in 5 games. The 2 today might have been the difference in the game. The Packers also were 0-3 on interception opportunities. Hawk, Harris and Woodson all could/should have had picks. The Packers are making strides in the right direction, but it won't matter if they can't reverse the turnover trend.

                  • Lots of blame to go around, not that anyone is responsible, but collectively it makes a loss from a game that could have been won.

                    Hawk dropped an easy interception.
                    Harris dropped an easy interception.
Woodson dropped a possible interception, a bit more difficult than the others.
                    Jennings dropped an easy pass.
                    Driver dropped a catchable ball.
Robinson dropped a catchable ball on the sidelines..
Morency gave points to the Rams with a fumble.
                    Rayner missed a makable fieldgoal.
Ryan had two poor punts punts leading to points.
Favre missed Franks for a TD in the first half, GB settles for a fieldgoal.
Favre had a very cold 3rd quarter.
Honestly, Favre's career tendency to hold the ball low and away from his body enabled the last fumble to end the game.

You are never going to play a game with no things like that happening. But with a list that long and a 3 point game, its easy to see why they lost.

By the way - Barnett played a very nice game. Solid tackling for the most part, and great range.

                            • Congrats, MJ.

I'd say break open some champagne, but with the way this team is playing, break out some of the heavy stuff.

                              • Tough game. I thought they looked decent at times vs. New Orleans and Detroit, but this is the best they've looked. They still found a way to lose. If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. An OL that paves the way for Noah Friggin' Herron to get 100 yards and barely allows any pressure in the pocket, finds a way to give up pressure immediately on the last play. Hard to say they suck. Hard to blame Brett on that one--although he was off in the 3rd quarter, but he does lead them back into the game late. Harris and Woodson both play well, but both drop potential interceptions (Harris was a lot easier). Hawk bounces back from his worst game and plays solidly, and he drops an interception. Rayner misses a makeable FG. Hard to believe. The defense actually makes some stops late, and does better than I thought they would. Meanwhile, I watch the Lions gift-wrap a victory for the Vikings. Frustrating! The difference between winning and losing in the NFL is pretty miniscule.
