    • BEARMAN,

Since you started the game thread and then bailed when the Bears were sucking, you should feel obligated to go to bed.

Lucky win for the Bears. Unlike 2001 and 2005, this hasn't been the norm. I felt they were fraudalent in 2001 and 2005 before their playoff embarrassments. I don't feel the same way about this team. They'll be a contender in the NFC. It probably all boils down to which Rex Grossman will show up in the playoffs.

This games again shows you that there isn't a whole lot between the bad teams and good teams in the NFL oftentimes.

Ok, he missed a 40 yard FG, he mised a 41 yard FG earlier. It is what it is, ... a WIN !

        GO BEARS !
The Bears are the first team in NFL history to come back from a 20 pt defecit without an offensive TD. And, they did it with only 16:00 left in the game. No, that's not luck

Sorry for the assumption. I welcome opposing fans, but can't stand the likes of the Bears fans on the JSO forum. Kind of have my radar out for those types. Well, welcome to the forum then.

I think your Bears are a legitimate contender in the NFC. Every team throws in stinkers during the year. There are four legit contenders in the NFC for a Super Bowl berth: Seattle, Chicago, Philly, and Carolina. Not sure about the Saints yet.

You certainly are 6-0. Bearman, if you don't mind me asking, about how old are you?

                • I have to give you guys credit over here on Packerrats. I just got home from watching the game at the sports bar and decided to read the game threads on here and JSonline. As opposing fans we always like to shoot down each others accomplishments(its nature). But you guys at least have sensible arguments. I just left JSonline and its like a talking to pouting kids over there. I must appologize for cheating on Packerrats for a lil fun with JSonline. I mean they are just kinda of fun to mess with but 2nite I have to pass on the bootycall.

                    • Congratulations on the win. Must feel great to be a Bears fan right now. The Bears took advantage of every break they were given but there was definitely a whole lot of luck involved.

The only possible upside to all this is that, with this win, Bears' fans expectations continue to grow. I'm hoping it swells up before getting popped again like last year. There were Bears fans in my neighborhood shooting off fireworks after the win like they had just won the Super Bowl.

Just wondering. You went through a lot of miserable years with the Bears before Ditka arrived, they were good for several years, and then they won it in 1985. Since then, it's been mostly miserable again.

I'm 10 years younger. With the Packers I've had the same timeline. The Packers went through a lot of miserable years before Favre/Holmgren/Wolf arrived, they were good for several years (well, for the better part of 13-14 years), and they won it in 1996 (about the same age as you when the Bears won it). Hopefully, I don't have to suffer through too much more miserable.

I'm sure there's some regret about the Bears only winning one title under Ditka. Packer fans are lamenting the same thing for the mid-90s Packers.

I'm not as old as bearman, so I missed the pre 80's Bear misery. But I suffered through the last 15 years and it does suck, especially when the Packers did so well during that stretch. Through it all though I have watched every single game, (except the last game of '93 or '94 against the Rams that wasn't aired in my market). I take pride in the fact that I stuck w/ them through thick and thin.

It's easy to be a fn when your winning divisions, you have a HOF QB, you have some playoff sucess. The true fan shines through when your team is down and you root for them and stand behind them even tho you know they suck. It makes nights like tonight and years like this one that much sweeter and no one you know can accuse you of being a fair weather fan...like my Packer fan father in law is. He's already quit watching them, I checked his fridge saturday, no more schedule posted w/ scores written on them. Fucking poser, he even started watching the White Sox this year after giving me shit the last 15 years for being a baseball fan. All of a sudden he has to watch "his Sox".

So stay true man, no matter who you root for. Remember even Bears and Vikings fans are just guys w/ jobs and families looking for something to root for and distract us from our mundane lifes too just like you.

                          • I have been a BEARS fan sence 1966. I will be a BEARS fan until the day I die. I am very happy that DA BEARS are doing well and are 6 an 0. I hope you folks don't mind me saying so every so often. I am going to bed, thanking the football gods that my BEARS are 6 an 0, and dreaming of more BEARS victories.

                              • I take responsibility for the Bear's winning - last I saw was AZ returning an INT for a TD and then having it probably called back. I shoulda stayed to watch the meltdown

Kornheiser was jinxing people all night. Something like, no team has ever lost two games in one season (or back-back) after being up 14 after the first Q (or some crazy Stat Inc. fact).

The Bears found a way to win - defense and special teams.

The fact is, Grossman looked really bad. The Bear's defense wasn't that impressive.

This will either give teams more film to mock and give them issues down the line OR pump up the Bears to think they're all powerful.
