Francies signed off practice squad; Brewster resigned

The Green Bay Packers today signed wide receiver Chris Francies from their practice squad, the team said in a news release.

The Packers also resigned wide receiver Carlton Brewster to take Francies’ place on the practice squad.

Francies, a 6-foot-1, 193-lb. rookie out of Texas-El Paso, originally signed with the team as a nondrafted free agent in May and spent the season’s first six weeks on the practice squad.

Francies will wear No. 83 and Brewster has been assigned No. 19.

When are we siging Taco? This team sucks.
Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

Ha ha....that's what I figured. I guess there are no decent FAs out there.

Brewster was still available? Hmmm, wonder why he wasn't at least on someone elses PS.

Taco is yesterday's news. The new flavor of the month is Chris "French Fry" Francies.

still doesn't make sense to me? why do the packers INSIST on only carrying 4 active wideouts?

glad to see punky brewster back, though. he should have never been cut in the first place.

What do you mean, they "INSIST on only carrying 4 active wideouts"? They have had 5 (Driver, Jennings, Ferguson, Robinson and Ruvell Martin) all year except for the first week. They still have 5 on the active roster, although Ferguson apparently is out for the time being.
