  • A few injury reports for game vs dolphins

Green Bay Packers: Halfback Ahman Green handled all of his reps Friday and will be able to do everything on first and second downs for the Packers as the featured running back. He was upgraded from questionable to probable Friday. Cornerback Charles Woodson is a little bit of a different story. Woodson practiced on Friday, giving him a chance to play, but coach Mike McCarthy will have to wait to see how the knee feels after practice Saturday morning. McCarthy said he's hopeful Woodson will play. He also has to make a game-day decision on whether Woodson will be the return specialist. The team still lists him as questionable. Cornerback Will Blackmon has a chance to be on the active roster. He's questionable with a shin injury. Fullback William Henderson was upgraded from questionable to probable despite a calf injury. He practiced all week. Not expected to play are linebacker Abdul Hodge (knee), defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins (ankle) and linebacker Ben Taylor (hamstring). Jenkins was officially ruled out. Taylor and Hodge are still doubtful. Wide receiver Robert Ferguson went to North Carolina for a second opinion on his foot injury and the news isn't good. McCarthy said Ferguson has a Lisfranc injury in his foot, which might knock him out for the season.

    Thanks for posting an update.

Any idea how Hodge got hurt or if it's really serious or just simple knee pain?

I hadn't heard Taylor being hurt either. I guess Poppinga is the man for now - too bad b/c we need to evaluate if he's really a starter or if Taylor (or Hawk/Hodge/Barnett) is a better line. With Hodge being hurt as well, this is all not good.

But that's football for you. I was in Ohare this afternoon and wore a shirt saying, "I'm from Milwaukee and that's not funny" just to spark conversations w/ Bear's fans. Most people I talk to hate the Vikings more than the Packers. I hate the Vikings more than the Bears.

Is it possible that we have something in common with Bear's fans after all?

Fosco, do you have attire to spark football conversation at all airports you frequent?

No, not generally. I just grabbed the shirt at 4 AM monday morning - randomly put it on and realized I was headed to Chicago for a connection. Although, everytime I wear a Packer hat or Wisconsin (Badger) shirt, people always wanna discuss WI.

Randomly the person next to me on the plane (lady from the OC), grew up in Milwaukee too - she didn't notice the shirt at all.

Sorry for hijacking this thread with the OT.

I'm glad we are relatively 'healthy' compared to last year at least. Maybe we can go 3-0 to get to .500 (Miami, AZ, Bills) and face the Vikings healthy. Who knows, teams can get hot? My manager bet me $100 the Packers wouldn't go 8-8 or better before the season (and I think pre-season) started. I really don't want to pay him

I'm going to continue the hijack - I'm on an oil rig off the coast of Nigeria, sitting in the mess hall, wearing my Pack hat. I local at the table leans over and says 'Sir, that's my favorite team. Ever been to Lambeau?'

I just about coughed orange juice out of my nose!

Yesterday, at a kids soccer game here in Oregon, I began a conversation with a Dad from the opposing team.

The discussion got around to my being a strong Packer fan. It turns out the Dad is Tony Cichoke, who played O-line for the Packers in '85 under coach Forrest Gregg!

He had some interesting stories to tell.

WHO? Never heard the name, nor can I find it on the Packer all-time roster. Perhaps he was in training camp or something.
