I think it's a dumb rule. If the defender is close enough to the receiver that he can face guard, and not actually touch him, I say good play by the defense. That and the pro defender pushed receiver out of bounds calls are two of my least favorite. If a defender is close enough to push the receiver out of bounds, that's a great play. I agree on both counts, ecspecially the second...how in the hell is the ref supposed to know if the reciever WOULD have gotten both feet in?
WAYYY to much of a judgement call....and a hypothetical....
