Well my friends, it's a beautiful morning in Chicago. The bitter cold has to be stinging just a tad more this a.m. for all the Bear fans. The radio sports shows are lit up with eulogies for their beloved Bears. Fans are in an uproar over Rex. Some even calling for a new QB and open competition this training camp at that position.

Now Bear fans know, getting there means nothing if you don't win. All you get for your trouble is the 31st pick in the draft. Best of all, the Bears were thoroughly out-played and the score should have been more lopsided. As one local sportscaster noted- after Hester's return, there was'nt one other positive in the whole game.

Speaking of Hester, any idea why they don't involve him more in the offense as a specialist? He's shown that he is a big-play machine and very evasive!! I don't get why they don't incorporate him into their offensive game plan more. He is the kind of guy who can break a game wide-open with a big play.

He's a defensive back, and apparently one who had difficulty picking up their defensive schemes, according to several articles. Putting him on the other side of the line of scrimmage may have been more than he could handle as a rookie. I know at one point the coaches said he was so valuable as a return man, they did not want to distract him and take away from that.

I suspect you might see them try to use him more next season.

I would just think on like an end-around or something they could bring him in. At the very least, you've got to pay attention to him when he's on the field. A very good distraction for the Bears, he could be.

Just got off the phone with my dad. Man, he hates Grossman with a passion. Well, then again, I guess most Bear fans feel that way.
Heard one sportscaster offer up a Grossman for Favre trade. It's gotta really suck to be Rex today........

Bringing Hester in as the RB in a 3 or 4 WR package might work. Dump it off to him where he has space to work with and he could break one. Hell, put him in and call a screen play. It's risky, but the rewards far outweigh the risks.

The Bears have Berrian as their speed guy. He gets the WR screens and reverses. He's just as fast as Hester.

Ain't it great? I'm heading out to the store and I have a feeling I won't see everyone wearing their Bears crap. Oh, and those annoying little souvenier stands should also be gone.

Mid-Day Report

Just hit a few stores and I'm happy to say no Bears gear in sight! The little stands are gone. After listening to the local radio shows, this city is in DENIAL! Fans think the game was closer than it really was.

No one is safe from the fan's anger. Rivera was ripped for not blitzing enough. Smith was criticized by more than one fan for being so conservative. But, the great majority of blame is for Rexy.

A few of the talk show guys were trying to put a positive spin on it saying the Bears are young and most everyone is coming back.

Bear fans are starting to sound a lot like Cub fans!

If I recall correctly, the Bears did line Hester up as a WR a few times late in the season. I don't think they threw to him though. I might be wrong about that.

Oh, and I agree about how great it is to see all the Bears fans suddenly disappear again. Big surprise there

Was listening to Bears radio after the game. They were ripping everyone a new one, and were furious that the Bears were so calm after the game and not mad at all.

I just could'nt watch it. He taped it, so I'll watch it at some point. They cut it down to about 45 seconds.

Mike Murphy on the Score 670 AM was in complete meltdown mode today. He was mercilessly ripping the entire team. He was questioning whether Lovie is the right coach, Rivera is the right DC, Turner is the right OC, Eddie Munster the right QB.

He was also ripping Tank Johnson and the overrated Brian Urlacher a new one too. The fans were actually more calm than him.

It's been great listening to the meltdown today. The silence at work was beautiful. The whining from Bears clowns on the sports stations was hilarious.

I've heard callers blame Eddie Munster for everything, others blaming the defense, still others blaming the coaches. Some are saying the Bears will be back next year while others point out that recent Super Bowl losers don't make the playoffs next year. They're all worried that Lance Briggs has played his last game for the Muppets. It sounds that way from listening to Briggs.

Yes, it was great to be a Packers fan today. This was the best Super Bowl in 10 years.
