  • Greg Olson TE 4.45 40 time

    Just watched him run
    4.47 first run
    4.45 second run
    His stock just went up
    6'5" 7/8
Could he jump up the draft charts like V.Davis did last year?

I think it's very possible he could pull a VD.

Last year packer fans wanted V.Davis over Hawk now we might get our TE this year if Lynch is off the board.

I don't think so, Olsen is no were close to being as athletic as Vernon Davis was.

          Olsen has better size, though.

He just did the gauntlet he was the best out of the TE

gauntlet = Standing between 2 QB so you catch turn quickly catch then try to run straight across the field while 4 QB throw you the football object to catch and keep running straight across the line on the field.

Olsen can't block, and his official time was 4.51. Davis ran under 4.4. Athleticly, they are not comparable. Actually, Zach Miller beat Olsen in the 3-cone drill and broad jump. Olsen did run fast though. He looks smooth in his routes, but he didn't look really big. Kind of scrawny. He looked more like Drew Bennett than Jeremy Shockey.

Don't get me wrong, I think A.J. Hawk is going to be a special player, but I still wish we had taken Vernon Davis.

                  Good points.

Olsen is not a top half of the first round pick IMO
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Talent-wise, I think both will be Pro Bowl players. I just have a feeling that Davis is going to be a problem child. First big year he has, he'll want to renegotiate his contract. Something like that. He ripped his QB last year. Hawk will be a great teammate, and likely won't raise a big stink about his contract. Considering everything, I'll take Hawk.

OLSEN VAULTS INTO THE TOP 15

A league source with a team that has been eyeing Miami tight end Greg Olsen is convinced based on his performance at the combine on Saturday that he'll be selected among the top fifteen picks.

"When a tight end can run like that," said the source, "he goes high."

Olsen currently isn't in our mock draft. He'll definitely be there next time around, possibly to the Panthers at No. 14.

lets see, a giant target, with great hands, pretty good speed that can run great routes, but can't block at all

i'm i the only one thinking about him as our giant go-to red zone WR?

the guy is a converted WR, why not put him back there? he's just as fast as jennings, but a whole hell of a lot bigger

You would expect a 1st round pick to be able to block but "can't" block is kind of misleading, he can be taught to block. Chewy had to be taught how to block. He's no VD but I bet he gets drafted in the 1st round.
                          Thanks Ted!

A non blocking tight end is the last thing our offense needs. He has not had to block and has never really wanted to either. Of course with his size and speed, along with the fact that this draft is void of any true quality tight ends besides Olsen (and possibly Miller), Olsen will be taken by someone in the first round. I just hope its not us...

I still think we go WR & DB in the first 2 rounds.

                              Not another first round TE.
bubba is pretty good, but that's about it. Not first round material.
