  • You Pick The Draft...#3, Cleveland Browns.

#1, Oakland Raiders - JaMarcus Russell
#2, Detroit Lions - Joe Thomas

We're up to Pick #3, Cleveland Browns.

In real situations, Cleveland could be the start of a lot of movement, which is rumored every year, but this year I think I could see movements happening at the top. You're selections are on top...lets discuss the Browns now.

I'm going to go out on a wing on this, and say they take Brady Quinn. They could use probably any of the guys listed, and many think they'll take Peterson. But I think they like the "home grown" guy.

i'll say CJ until he's off the board. best player in this draft

and cleveland needs WR help, braylon edwards was their top guy, and he wasn't anything special

plus a target like that would help out charlie frye quite a bit, who i think will still end up being a good pro

in reality, they should trade this pick, so they can draft more help. someone will be willing to jump up to #3 to take CJ, and the browns could pick up an extra 2nd to do it. you drop down two or three spots and still get peterson or quinn

        RB

I think they will be under pressure to go with the "sure thing". I think it's the safest bet in the draft that they take Peterson.

Can't say I'm an Irish fan but I'm with ND72 in that I think the Browns would almost have to take Quinn at #3.

All the recent talk about Quinn's weaknesses and the fact the Irish got blown out in bowl games with Quinn at the helm the last couple of years and in some other games is rubbish. The team just isn't that talented and if it wasn't for Quinn they would likely have been lucky to be close to .500.

He doesn't have the moxy that Montana had but he certainly does remind me of the former 3rd round Golden Domer. Now if only has even half the NFL career he will be regarded as a great pick.

I know this isn't "Browns" or even Packer related, but just read this so I thought I'd post it...

According to the St Paul Pioneer Press the Vikings will offer a second round pick and possibly Brad Johnson to the Falcons for Quarterback Matt Schaub.

If the Vikings make this offer, the Falcons would have to give it serious consideration. A high 2nd round pick would be great value for Schaub.

              and this one...

The Detroit Free Press is reporting the Lions are listening to trade offers for the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft. According to Matt Millen, he's talking to teams that are interested in JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn.

Trading down and acquiring more draft choices makes a lot of sense for the Lions, a team that has many holes to fill. Also, they don't seem to be interested in any of the top players in the draft except for Joe Thomas.

This would be bad for us. Schaub is gonna be a good one when he gets a chance. I'd hate for the damn Vikes to get him.

atlanta would be morons if they did this IMO

johnson has no trade value, he should be retired, not trade bait. and shaub should be able to get at least a 1st rounder in return

If I'm TT, I offer our first and second rd pick this year and a 3rd next season for their #2, then take CJ. I know it's steep, but you have a bona fide #1 WR for the next 10 years.

I'm going with CJ on this one. WR talent like this is rare to say the least, jump on it while you can.

As for the Schaub/Vikings deal. Right now the tender of the 1st and 3rd pick is on him, and given the interest in him the Falcons should wait and see what offers come in. There is no reason for them to jump at this offer when there is so much more they can get than a has-been QB with an attitude problem (he thinks he should be a starter, not a backup).
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!

someone else had this same idea last week

according to the trade value chart, we would have to give up every single pick in this draft our 1st round pick next year, and maybe our 2nd next year

to move from #16 to #2

Yeah, I don't think we're moving that far up, if up at all. I personally do think teams are dumb to pass on Calvin Johnson. He's about as easy of a top pick in a draft as anyone in the past few years. I was just checking out some other boards, and there is a Lions board where EVERYONE wants Johnson, and don't care that they've had 3 WR in a row drafted round 1, cause this is a sure thing. Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson would be deadly.
