Not sure why you are worrying. TT has shown himself to very prudent. I am still surprised at the signing of Woodson, but overall he is very cautious. Perhaps with the front loaded contract, TT figured if the he pans out it will be worth the up-front risk.Originally posted by b bulldogI hope TT spends very wisely and doesn't spend too much on decent talent.

No doubt. Gil Meche got like $11-12M/year, for Crip's sake. The guy had an ERA of 4.48, 5.09, 5.01, and 4.59 the last four years. At least, Suppan has been a winner--in the regular season and playoffs.Originally posted by BF4MVPThat's usually how it is when it's a shitty FA class..
Look at this past baseball offseason..Pitchers made CRAZY money..Barry Zito is a good pitcher, not a great one, and he got the biggest contract for a pitcher in history.."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Agreed. I'm not so sure why people get worked up over players who are oftren over-hyped or injury prone or aging.
TT done good last year. I think he's earned a little respect."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."
