Not sure why you are worrying. TT has shown himself to very prudent. I am still surprised at the signing of Woodson, but overall he is very cautious. Perhaps with the front loaded contract, TT figured if the he pans out it will be worth the up-front risk.Originally posted by b bulldog -

Look at this past baseball offseason..Pitchers made CRAZY money..Barry Zito is a good pitcher, not a great one, and he got the biggest contract for a pitcher in history..Comment

No doubt. Gil Meche got like $11-12M/year, for Crip's sake. The guy had an ERA of 4.48, 5.09, 5.01, and 4.59 the last four years. sure the salary cap is increasing over the years. but are these deals worth it? i mean, thats awfully a large amount of money. i think at least half of these deals wont turn out to be good ones.Comment

Agreed. I'm not so sure why people get worked up over players who are oftren over-hyped or injury prone or aging.
