i like the poll. many posters are furious over the fact the green is gone

he asked the question, are you mad enough at TT to want him fired?

i think the results are a little surprising. even though theres a lot of TT hate right now, almost everyone thinks he should not be hired right now

i picked the maybe in time answer. we have to wait and see what he does about this, and how the does this year. if we look bad again next year, and it turns out TT did very little to help the team. then it might be time for him to go.

I am pretty sure Retail Guy voted yes his love for Sherman is never ending, I voted maybe in the future. I liked Ahman and maybe this was a mistake but the reality is it is only a two year contract none of these big signings will be honored Nate Clements is the most obvious it is a 5-6 year deal.

I can't believe there is only one "fire TT" thread.

        We must be getting soft.

As many of you must realize on this board.Ted Thompson's style of managing the Packers drives me nearly to the brink at times.

          He's a difficult study.

Should he be fired based on any criticisms of him so far this off season?

Of course not. He now will be judged based on how well he reacts to us losing Ahman Green and how that shows up in the win - loss column in 2007.

I'm one of the time will tell voters.

It really sucks to be a Packer fan, because we are so very weak on offense.I really hoped that Ahman would be in the fold for 2007 and now Ted Thompson has some more real work to do. Really what are his options to set OUR 'O' up better for next season?

Today how many of you really believe, based on 'the facts'. that we will improve on our 8-8 record of last season in 2007?

I certainly can't see that happening, especially given the more difficult schedule.

Well, should TT be fired, um.... NO! I think it was a good business decision based on Ahman's age and injury problems in the past, and his rep for funmbling and not being the best passing catching back! I don't see how TT could or would even want to pay him that much!

Thank you Ahman for your years of service here, and Congrads on the new contract. Good luck in Houston....

I'm personally not too worried about this, this will just make TT hopefully, and it will, make him more active now for a RB.

PERSONALLY...If I'm TT thinking I will probably spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on a RB, how bout we just trade our 2nd or 3rd for McGahee in Buffalo.
I'm with ND72 across the board here. I'll miss Green--he was one of my favorites--but running backs are brittle even when they haven't had as many injury issues and as many years of pounding as Ahman's had. I don't care a lot for TT's personality, but I think it's way too soon to say he should be fired.
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

This poll is about as reasonable as a poll in 1993 would have been.

Do you want Favre benched? yes/no

All you do is spout the same "Thompson is great" shit but yet there is nothing but may-be and could be to back you up. If you EVER made one post with one fact in it, I'd have another heart attack.

So I asked her why she wanted to buy a horse. I mean, really, what's the sense in owning a big dumb beast that does nothing but eat and shit all day and isn't even smart enough to lay down when it sleeps? Well, she got all excited and said they were the most beautiful and intelligent animals on the planet outside of the canine. Great, I thought, another animal that offers nothing but some peanut butter blow jobs in return for a lifetime of feeding, grooming, and cleaning up shit. In the end we decided the offer would be suspended for another year, until the finances could be sorted out after her brother's tragic death.

The Ted Thompson situation is a lot like this too, so I think we should take a similar course and concentrate on what's important here. I won't vote, but I hope this clears up my position on the matter, because if this doesn't, I don't believe anything will.

Did you ask each and every player if they cared? If you did not, then I will not believe they did not.

TT wants to build through the draft - GOOD - the trouble is though that you actually have to DRAFT PLAYMAKERS.

So far not so good on drafts, TT. Apart from AJ Hawk there's a few "maybe" playmakers in Jennings and in Spitz/Colledge - if OGs can even be considered playmkars at all. A. Rodgers has potential but he's not a RB and it's well known that Rodgers is still a question mark at that. The rest are roleplayers with limited upside but a gem might be hidden somewhere on the GB roster - you never know for sure. But TTs drafts have been less than spectacular - to say the least. TT must draft better.

The best scoops TT has done are Woodson, Pickett, Rayner (solid year for a soph) and Gado who was then traded for Morency - now a nice backup RB. All through free agency/trade.
