  • Al Wallace visits GB

8 year vet, who played last season in Carolina, visited GB yesterday. He is 6'5" and weighs around 280. He plays DE. This was on the TMJ4 news last night.

That's what I was thinking. This is the 2nd DE we've looked at this week.

What I like about this guy is he is tall and weighs a lot. While I agree it is overrated, he will be tough against the run if he is remotely strong.

Bye Bye KGB. Another one of Shermans crappy moves about to be nullified by the great TT.

Anybody think that KGB has been part of the trade the entire offseason? Considering it was rumored that our #1 target in Free Agency was Adalius Thomas, and we wanted him to put his hand down instead of play at the Linebacker position? I feel that the only reason a trade hasn't gone down yet is because we don't have another effective 3rd down pass rusher on our team.

Possibly, and I like this guy as a backup to Kamp and Jenkins.

I like the fact TT seems to be looking for another DE/Pass Rush guy...IF we are trading KGB for Moss...you need a 3rd down guy. I like our starting line of Kampy, Williams, Pickett, & Jenkins...but on 3rd down you move Jenkins inside as a Pass rush DT, and bring in a speed guy...If TT puts all his ducks in a row here, good job him. I'm still NOT in favor of getting Moss...but TT seems to have a plan or a view.

I don't understand why we don't look at a guy like David Bowens.

                    1 Pass Defensed

                    and he's a UFA.

Why don't we go for somebody who has been in Green Bay before, and is as productive as anybody left on the market?

It's not like we're looking for anything more than a stopgap player anyways.

                    Any thoughts?

My thought would be that they are looking for somebody that could step in as a starter if Jenkins or Kampman go down. Montgomery hasn't shown he's capable. They might also think that Hunter can be that undersized speed rusher if need be. I don't think Bowens is a guy who would do well in full-time role.
