The Oakland Raiders were awarded two compensatory draft picks Monday - one third round pick and one seventh round pick in the upcoming 2007 NFL draft. The Draft is set for April 28-29 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The Raiders also currently hold the #1 overall selection.

Under terms of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in a year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.

The Raiders received a 3rd round choice (99th overall) and a 7th round choice (254th overall). The Raiders currently hold 10 selections for the 2007 NFL Draft.

Yes, we should be cheering for Ahman and Martin.

Their additions are weighed off our free agent acquisitions. So far we're looking good for extra draft picks on that end
