Dwayne Jarrett WR Jarrett (6-4, 214) ran his 40s in 4.67 and 4.62 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.20 and the three-cone drill in 7.28. He also had a 36½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-1 broad jump.

About what was expected for his forty time. The short shuttle is pretty good though.

thats faster then was expected, the rumor at the combine was that he ran a 4.7 something at a speed camp, and couldn't improve on it

I think it's BS to say a WR of Jarret's size can't be very, very good even with that sort of pedestrian 40 time. Bear in mind, I'm not defending Jarret. I'm defending quality WR's with slower 40 times.

Good hands, good route running, the ability to establish position, and proper use of a receiver's strengths within an offensive system mean as much or more.

That said, I simply don't know if Jarret has enough of the other tools or enough good character to succeed as an NFL receiver.

The guy seems to be full of himself and he reminds many of Mike Williams. He does seem to play fast when his pads are on.

Jarrett is better than Mike Williams, but that's not saying much... I had Mike Williams pegged as a low round draft pick on his lack of burst alone. Jarrett has more ability than Williams, but I don't think he's worth a 1st round pick.

Jarrett shows decent game speed, even though that could be due in part to the fact that he was just fast enough, and certainly big enough to dominate on the collegiate level - that advantage won't translate to the NFL, however.

I see Jarrett as having a decent NFL career, but I don't see him as a difference maker... more than "just a guy", but no where near good enough to be "the guy".
