DT Allen wants to be a Lion

Unrestricted free agent Kenderick Allen is focusing on talks with the Detroit Lions, his agent said Wednesday, likely ending the defensive tackle’s injury-marked, one-year stay with the Green Bay Packers.

“I know they still like him,” agent Harold Lewis said of the Packers, who got two games out of Allen after signing him to a one-year, $700,000 deal last April. “They said they’d get back to us before the draft.

“We’re just trying to find the right opportunity. Is that Detroit? Is that Green Bay? We’ll find out.”

A 6-foot-5, 328-pound LSU product, Allen had two solo tackles in his Packers debut last September, but he suffered a foot injury two weeks later and was placed on injured reserve. With Ryan Pickett and Corey Williams expected to remain in starting roles this fall, Allen would have to compete for a spot in the reserve rotation with Johnny Jolly and Colin Cole.

Detroit has a more clear-cut opening after releasing three defensive tackles, including starter Anthony Bryant, last month. If Allen, 28, signs there, the Lions would be his fourth team in five NFL seasons. He also played for the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints.

He'll never settle down with any one team. He's a journeyman. We won't miss him too much.

How can we miss him? He only played in 2 games.

Same story when he was with the Giants...

No loss here. We're better off giving Jolly more reps this season then resigning Mr. Injury.

Yeah. Mike Montgomery also falls under the same category.

Let him go. Something really wrong with a guy who wants to be a Lion.

Something tells me the motive is "wants to be paid" more than "wants to be a lion"

                        What another misleading subject title.

Sorry! I didn't see that was the title of the article. Bad editing job.
