Did this last year, bringing it back...

The Premise:

Pick 10 players YOU think the Packers will draft this year and what round you think they'll go in. Whoever racks up the most points, wins.

Scoring:

Points will be awarded according to the round the player was taken in, since predictions are proportionally more difficult in the higher rounds. One additional point will be added if the round prediction is correct. Some examples:

Have a pick of "Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal. 1st Round" and if the Packers take Lynch with the 16th pick, you get 2 points, one for hitting a first round pick, one for correctly predicting the round.
A pick of "Matt Spaeth, TE, Minnesota, 3rd round" with the Packers taking Spaeth in the 3rd round would net you 4 points, 3 for hitting a third round pick, and one for getting the round correct.
Having "Mason Crosby, K, Colorado, 3rd round" and the Packers take him in the 4th round will net you 4 points for picking a 4th round pick.

It doesn't matter which 10 players you pick, your list could be Johnson, Lynch, Nelson, Olson, Landry, Quinn, Hall, Meachem, Bowe, and Anderson, or it could be 10 guys nobody ever heard of. You don't have to take a player for each round.

Submissions/changes will be accepted until Goodell slams his gavel to open the draft on Saturday morning. Winner gets the honored distinction of either being a lucky SOB or having way too much time to think about the NFL Draft. I dunno. Maybe I'll give you a cookie or something if I ever see you on the street.

What if you get the player rihgt but round wrong?

You get the number of points corresponding to the round he was taken in. Getting the round correct only serves as a bonus.

I will go first.

In the first round the Packers will select
Darrelle Revis CB Pittsburg This guy is a stud! A real playmaker. Our Cornerbacks Woodson and Harris are getting old we need to get new blood. He doubles as a return specialist as well.

Second round Packers will select Anthony Gonzales WR Ohio State Good hands good speed can become a legit 2nd or 3rd reciever behind Driver and Jennings.

Third round the Packers select
Tony Hunt RB Penn State This would be a solid pick for the Packers. Had a solid senior year. His greatest asset is his durabilty, Can be an every down back in the NFL.

Fourth round pick the Packers select Ben Patrick TE Delaware Behind Olsen and Miller Ben Patrick is the 3rd best TE in the draft Solid hands and good size at 6'3 252. No brainer here..

Fifth round pick the Packers select Clifford Ryan DT Michigan State At 6'2 310 this guy can stuff the run and provide solid help on the defensive line.

Sixth round the Packers selectJustin Durant LB Hampton A solid LB can shore up D.

Seventh round the Packers selectYaman Figurs WR Kanas State This guy is very fast ran 4.30 at combine. Good hands can return kicks as well.

1st - Reggie Nelson - S - Florida - 5'11 / 198 lbs
I feel that this kid is pretty high on TT's draft board, and I also have a feeling that Buffalo will take Marshawn Lynch out from under us. As many other draft sites have predicted there is going to be a huge urge to take Greg Olsen here, but TT knows he needs to replace Marquand Manuel. (If he doesn't at least know this we're all doomed.)

2nd - Kenny Irons - RB - Auburn - 5'10 / 205 lbs
Kenny Irons due to health and some character issues his stock is dropping a bit, and at this point in the 2nd he is going to be a steal. It's either him or Michael Bush at this pick. Both are the highest ranked RB's left on the board and it all depends on who TT wants here.

3rd - Ikaika Alama-Francis - DE - Hawa'ii - 6'5 / 280 lbs
If he drops this low TT will get his card into the officials in a matter of seconds. Alama-Francis is a pro-bowl prospect, who needs to mature into a Defensive End's role. Look for him to have a breakout Junior year.

4th - Rhema McKnight - WR - Notre Dame - 6'1 / 211 lbs
This was a tough decision. When I went into filling this out I thought Rhema was a 2nd-3rd round prospect, but after looking at a few lists of WR's I decided that Rhema could be here in the 4th. TT has a need for a WR and he may just get one of the better ones in the draft in the 4th.

5th - Allen Barbre - OT - Missouri Southern State - 6'4 / 300 lbs
Barbe is a small school kid who is perfect for the ZBS. He runs a 4.84 has quick feet and is very athletic. TT has proven that he knows how to pick lineman, at least ZBS ones (Will Whitaker was a fluke), here he'll pick another future starter.

6th - Gabe Hall - OT - Texas Tech - 6'3 / 313 lbs
Played against deccent competition in College and was solid in his starting role. Came into a college as a tight end. Has quick feet and is agile. Needs to work on technique and who better to teach him than two of the best Tackles in the league.

7a - Nate Ilaoa - RB/ FB - Hawa'ii - 5'8 / 245 lbs
At 245 he's a big load to handle, in college he ran in the 4.45 range, but had a poor showing at the combine. Here is my "I WANT THIS GUY" pick, I saw him a bit in college and he was nothing but good. He could project to be a better FB in this league than a HB, and we are in need of a dominate FB, no reason not to give the guy a chance.

7b - Aaron Fairooz - WR - Central Arkansas - 6'5 / 209 lbs
Best WR left on the board. He's tall, quick, ran a 4.55 at the combine, and has room to get bigger. He could project to be a Redzone type of guy.

7c - Nick Graham - CB - Tulsa - 5'9 / 191 lbs
Another small school hero who could surprise some. He's a football player, but he can be seen as nothing more than a project.

Just a feeling, that Teddy will look for defense first, then go offense.

2nd Round – Craig Davis WR, LSU
Speedy WR, not short either. He's Raw, but the upside could be huge.

3rd Round – Ben Patrick TE, Delaware
"Gut" feeling of the best TE in the draft.

4th Round – Darius Walker RB, Notre Dame
Labeled as the best zone runner in the draft.

5th Round – Marshal Yanda G/T, Iowa
Depth at both Guard & Tackle

6th Round – Jackie Battle RB/FB, Houston
Can play either position. Mostly FB.

7th Round – Dallas Sartz OLB, USC
Tough Strong Side LB. Depth behind Poppinga, or competition.

7th Round – Matt Trannon WR, Michigan State
6'6" 230. He's not fast, but he's a big boy. Hello red zone.

7th Round – Toby Korrodi QB, Central Missouri State
Small School QB....Teddy loves small schools.

Back from a relaxing week in Wisconsin, time to throw my hat in.

Reggie Nelson, S, Florida, 1st round
I don't like Manuel, and a true center-fielder at FS would be a nice move.

Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal, 1st round
Glaring need. Period.

Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee, 1st round
Big dropoff in talent after Lynch and Peterson at RB, so a WR might be a good bet.

Justin Blaylock, OT, Texas, 2nd round
Tauscher and Clifton aren't getting any younger....

Mason Crosby, K, Colorado, 3rd round
Raynor is a good filler, but Crosby could be scoring points for the Packers for a long time.

Scott Chandler, TE, Iowa, 4th round
Made me hate him at the ISU-Iowa game this year. Good receiving skills to compliment Franks

David Ball, WR, New Hampshire, 5th round
Broke a TD record set by some guy named Jerry Rice. Give the kid a shot.

1st day pick until a season-ending knee injury last year.

Ryan Koch, FB, Iowa State, 7th round
PUT THE KOCH IN THE A-HOLE! Great short-yardage runner and TD machine. Showed flashes of skill as a RB in his last game.

Brent "Big Play" Curvey, DT, Iowa State, 7th round
Disruptive run-stopper who could turn into decent player after a little work.

That's what I like about this format. You get to hear about guys who'll go in later rounds that you never heard of before. I often wind up looking up some of these guys. Everybody and their mother knows about the first round prospects and has a first round mock. This changes things up a bit.
