I don't mean to single you out but it amazes me how many people think Thompson is targeting a certain position. He doesn't do that. He takes the best guy. It mgiht be an offensive tackle.Originally posted by packers11
thats what i was thinking too...
Pick up a RB with late second round...
Then cb with early third...
Moss for late third...
I would turn into a happy camper...Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

Eric Wright
CB | (5'10", 192, 4.36) | NEVADA LAS VEGAS
Scouts Grade: 88
Flags: (C: CHARACTER) Problems on and off the field(D: DURABILITY) Player that can't stay healthy Selected by: Cleveland Browns
Round: 2
Pick (Overall): 21(53)
Strengths: Possesses good height and adequate bulk. Displays good upper-body power for his size. Shows good balance and burst getting in and out of his pedal. Is extremely fast and shows the ability to make up ground while the ball is in the air. Displays good quick-twitch athleticism and fluid hips. Can turn-and-run with faster receivers and has enough size to hold his own on an island. He shows closing burst when breaking on the underneath throw and he also displays above-average ball skills. He shows good burst and some wiggle with the ball in his hands. He has experience returning kicks and also played some offense at UNLV in 2006.
Weaknesses: Lacks ideal recognition skills. Takes too many chances and is undisciplined. He gets caught peeking in the backfield and he gets burned too frequently for gambling. Not physical enough and doesn't show enough aggressiveness in run support. He avoids contact too often and he is a below-average open-field tackler. Comes with off-field character baggage. Transferred from USC to UNLV after he was arrested and charged on suspicion of rape. The charges were eventually dropped but authorities did find the drug ecstasy in his apartment, which he shared with a roommate, during a search.
Overall: Wright originally attended USC where he was redshirted in 2003. He then appeared in all 13 games (four starts) as a redshirt freshman in 2004, finishing with 33 total tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Wright then transferred to UNLV and sat out the 2005 season in accordance with NCAA regulations. In 2006, he started nine contests (missed three due to a knee injury) and recorded 29 total tackles including 0.5 for loss, one interception, nine passes defended, and one forced fumble earning second team All-WAC honors. Wright also returned 18 kickoffs for 430 yards (23.9 average) and rushed twice for 36 yards during the 2006 season.
Wright is a smooth and confident cover corner with the size and elite speed to turn-and-run with most NFL receivers in man-coverage. He also has some value in the return game. While he makes big plays in coverage, he also takes too many risks that lead to big plays allowed and he isn't much for run support. Wright is talented enough to warrant consideration as high as the second round but his character and durability issues could cause him to slip. We think he's worth the risk in the second round.

Sorry I missed it... trying to watch the Devils playoff game along with the draft..Originally posted by pittstang5He's gone - St. LouisOriginally posted by hurleyfanThe FB from Rutgers could be a nice addition,,, catches the ball, can block, and he runs like a "tail back"Originally posted by BretskyI'm not really sure who I want in round two; maybe Pittman. We need some talent on offense though; somehowMy Two favorite teams are the Packers, and whoever plays the Vikings!

That won't stop people from complaining.Originally posted by motifeThompson got mercilessly TRASHED in the national media and local fan base last year when he picked 2 "unknowns" in the 2nd round, Daryn Colledge from Boise State(??) with the 47th pick, and Greg Jennings from Western Michigan(??) with the 52nd.
The 2 were arguably among the best at their position last year on the all rookie team.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

I can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
