  • DeShawn Wynn

DeShawn Wynn was the starting RB on a national championship Gator team loaded with talent. A big factor during his time at Florida was the coaching change that took place after his second year. The new coach (Urban Meyer) always seemed to be looking to replace him.......yet no one was able to take his spot.

His stats and contributions to the Gators are readily available. But it is interesting to look a little deeper. He was very highly recruited coming out of High School in Ohio as one of the nations "elite" running backs. One or two "services" had him ranked as the number 1 running back in the nation his senior year. Rivals had him ranked in the top 4 and all the rest included him as one of the top backs in the nation.

He has talent........but what does it mean to the Packers? Will he even make the team? Or is he a potential starter one day? Or something in between? It will be interesting watch it play out.

I was wondering what you thought of this dude. Its great when the fan of a player's school give his perspective. Not that anyone listens to me about Fresno St player!

I also read about this guy. I like the pick. Is he more of a bruiser tyoe vs Jackson?

I like the pick b/c he has the physical talent to succeed...

I'd be surprised if he actually made it though. He's lazy, has weight issues, and doesn't have a driven personality. To me that adds up to failure.

You never know with these kids though... they're young. Maturity can cure up a lot of personality red flags; but, then again, some of these kids never grow up.

I don't like him. He looks like a poor man's LenDale White. If he can play FB, he has more value there. Then, he can spell the HBs in an emergency situation.

I'm hoping this will be where one of Thompson's drafting strategies pays dividends. With a few exceptions, Thompson tends to draft guys who are display motivation, intelligence, and leadership. I'm hoping that if you stock the locker room with enough leaders, they can turn the head cases around.

But, if he gets cut, he's a 7th round pick. They usually get cut.

He's one of those guys who need to understand that his ticket to the NFL is how he plays on special teams. He can worry about what position he's going to play later. Edgar Bennett seems to think he's ok attitude-wise. We'll see.

I'd imagine he gets nicked up b/c he's not dedicated to being in shape...

You really have to wonder how dumb a guy must be to have millions of $$$ worth of talent - are least millions of $$$ worth of potential - and then to just take that opportunity and shrug it off with a nonchalant attitude.

If millions of $$$$ and a lifetime of financial security aren't enough to get a guy motivated, what would be???

Some of these guys are just unbelievable morons.

He most likely will not make the roster

This guy is intruiging(how the hell you spell that word?) anyhow. A 7th rounder on a guy with much more talent than that is a good situation...Kids do grow up, and well I'm sure he has been coddled his whole life. Not no more, so he'll either earn it or go to work for Home Depot...

The guy said a number of wrong things to the media.

He could be bounced quickly with a bad attitude.

If he keeps his mouth shut, respects the rules and coaches, he might last a couple of years.

A guy like Reggie was great at helping guys like this get their mind right.
