Not really. Jackson ran in the low 4.5s at the combine. He ran in the low 4.4s on campus, but Nebraska probably has the fastest turf in the nation. Ahman Green ran in the 4.2s on campus.Originally posted by JoemailmanJackson was 4.41. Peterson was 4.40. Lynch was 4.47.
Peterson is clearly faster than Jackson. It was close in the shuttle runs and vertical jump, I believe."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

I love Jones's skills in complement to the rest of our guys. The guy is a really physical receiver, and he's got great hands and good leaping ability. Looks to me like he has the shot to be a great red zone threat, where "blazing 40 speed" isn't as much of an issue as your ability to muscle the DB out of position and go up for the ball.
If he could get a license to push off, he'd be unstoppable.

Does anyone remember last year when we drafted Cory Rodgers?
Did you remember watching highlight vids for Cory and Greg Jennings?
I remember watching them and thinking, Jennings looks natural, Rodgers showed more returning kicks.
Well when i watch our 2 new WRs I get the same feeling I had with Jennings.
Jones reminds me of Jennings, possession receiver, adjusts to ball, nice run after catch.
Clowney is just a freak, breaks from coverage easily. If his QB could actually lead him further on his routes then the following highlight video would show more of his speed and run after the catch.
I just have a REALLY good feeling on these two players.

Also, Clowney never catches anything in stride. He always stops. It could be the QB, though. Regardless, he doesn't have the same acceleration that Ted Ginn has. Not even close. Quite frankly I don't think we ever really saw his speed in that vid because he never gets enough seperation to pull away.

One of the reports I read on Clowney was that he was held back by poor QB play at VT. He'll love catching passes from Brett, as long as Brett doesn't break his fingers.I can't run no more

Not enough separation. Looks like he gets separation on a bunch of plays, but they have a noodle-armed QB. Look at the play at the 2:30 mark. The play at 4:10 also. Actually, there's a bunch of plays like that.Originally posted by PartialAlso, Clowney never catches anything in stride. He always stops. It could be the QB, though.
