    If you can stop me without probable cause at a DWI checkpoint, why stop there? Run a check for warrents, search my car. Make sure I am a legal resident. Just think of all the bad things you could fix if the authorities could stop you for NO REASON other than to verify you are not up to evil things.....


    The supreme court that upheld that were hypocritical idiots who should have been removed immeditaely for violating their office.
    That's the way we do it in Canada - we call them 'Spot Checks'

    You have to give them something to work with. The way the police used to (and would rather continue) to do it would be to pick obviously drunk drivers off the road. Problem was, that led to profiling, and our Supreme court decided it was unconstitutional to do. So the checks have to be random, and include everyone.
