I wasn't suggesting that we wait for the 6th and 7th rounds to take a WR. I'd actually like to see us take one now, even Driver needed 2 or 3 years to develop. I was merely pointing out it is possible to find a good receiver deep in the draft. HIGHLY unlikely, as you pointed out, but nonetheless possible. I did look for the hell of it, and the only other two WR's in the 7th round I found that I ever even heard about are David Givens and T.J. Houshmanzadeh

Prospect Profile: Daryn Colledge
By: TFY Draft Preview
Date: Mar 19, 2006
.
Full Name: Daryn Colledge School: Boise State Pos: T
Ht: 6-4.5 Wt: 299 40: 5.04 Year: 5Sr
Bio: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors since his sophomore campaign. Previously timed at 4.93 in the 40-yard dash.
Pos: Hard-working offensive tackle who was very productive on the college level. Nasty and works to finish off opponents, yet a lineman who plays with great intelligence. Patient, keeps his feet moving throughout the play and slides off the edge in pass protection. Makes outstanding use of blocking angles and body positioning.
Neg: Not a dominant run-blocker who gets much movement off the line. Marginal skills in motion. Does not possess the height teams want in a blind-side tackle.
Analysis: A coachable prospect and favorite of the Boise State staff, Colledge is a polished lineman with a good game. Canmore freedom, less government. Go Sarah!

Top Tackle Interview
By Patriots Insider Staff
Date: Feb 21, 2006
Tackles in the NFL, especially on the left side, are the most valued of all linemen and for good reason. A left tackle protects the quarterback's blind side, and is expected to do so many times without help. It's also one reason they're so valuable. Losing a starting LT -- as the Patriots did in 2005 -- can disrupt an offense or force it to be more conservative. One little known tackle from Alaska is drawing plenty of interest from NFL teams. The Patriots can quietly hope he falls to them at 21.
Boise State offensive tackle Daryn Colledge isn't your typical lineman. He is built more like a linebacker but believes that gives him an advantage heading into the NFL as he can block at the point of attack with his strength and still get to the second level effectively with his speed.
They don't come much tougher than Daryn Colledge. He grew up in North Pole, Alaska right outside Fairbanks before heading to Boise State where he played in every game during his collegiate career.
Colledge had scouts scurrying to his side at the Senior Bowl with representatives from the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos among the teams showing the most interest.
Scouts believe he has upside potential and is still raw after not playing much in high school. With an athletic body built for power and speed, Colledge represents many of the characteristics line coaches rave about. Strong at the point of attack and quick on his feet, he was able to use his body to fend off defenders' bull rushes and speed moves.
The Boise State lineman turned in a solid performance in Mobile as a member of the North's team. He handled the South team's outstanding pass rushers, including Elvis Dumervil of Louisville, Mark Anderson of Alabama and Manny Lawson of North Carolina State. Colledge proved why he would be chosen early in April's NFL Draft.
The Patriots aren't exactly looking for a new left tackle in the Draft, but a player with the attributes of Colledge's would make them think twice before passing him by. Having already shown interest in a number of offensive tackles ranked slightly ahead and behind the Alaska native, including Marcus McNeill and Ryan O'Callaghan, it's easy to see how New England could be interested in acquiring his services.
Matt Light is expected to make a full recovery from a broken leg to man the left tackle position in 2006 for the Patriots, but a number of other positions may open up on the right side. Adding Colledge would not only give New England a talented blocker who's athletic enough to pass protect well and drive defenders off the ball, but it might fill some potential holes caused by free agency. Free-agents-to-be, guard Stephen Neal and tackle Tom Ashworth, are yet to be resigned. Both were given one-year tenders last year and it's not yet clear if the team will retain their services.
Colledge spoke to our Scout.com's Denis Savage on a number of topics, including his ability to pass block, run block on the second level, his maturity and more.more freedom, less government. Go Sarah!

Underrated OL Visits Dallas
By: Roy Philpott
TheRanchReport.com
Date: Apr 24, 2006
TheRanchReport.com brings you the latest on one of the last visitors to Dallas before the 2006 NFL Draft.
As first reported on TheRanchReport.com Premium Message Board more than 10 days ago, the Dallas Cowboys recently had Boise State offensive lineman Daryn Colledge in for a visit to Valley Ranch.
Colledge, who stands in at over 6-feet-4 inches tall, but weighs only 298 pounds, isn't your typical lineman. He is built more like a linebacker but he believes that gives him an advantage heading into the NFL as he can block at the point of attack with his strength and still get to the second level effectively with his speed.
"I think I'm a rare combination of size and speed on the offensive line," he said in a recent interview with Scout.com. "I think people will be surprised after they see me bury a defensive lineman, then I'm running in the secondary taking on safeties, corners and outside linebackers ... I'll be running those guys down."
As far as his size goes, College says he could easily add more weight, or even lose some if needed.
"It depends on where I end up," he said. "Obviously with my frame I can put on 15 pounds if that's what they want or scale down another five pounds."
Despite his size, they don't come much tougher. College grew up in North Pole, Alaska right outside Fairbanks before heading to Boise State where he played in every game during his collegiate career and was a team captain in each of his last two seasons.
Another impressive stat of this Boise State lineman is the number of consecutive starts he made in college- 52 in all.
"I'm extremely healthy," he said. "I've never had a major injury. I've been blessed. I've taken care of my body as best as I can and I have good nutrition."
Scout.com currently ranks College the No. 5 overall offensive tackle prospect available in the 2006 NFL Draft.

"I loved watching the Lizard bobble that toothpick in his mouth like he was giving someone a tongue bath! 16-2!"
You're hilarious, Mateo.
Methinks we passed on Winston because Daryn "I went to" Colledge is a better guard prospect. But it'll take a couple years."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."
