I think Nick should just shy away from nightclubs, owning or patronizing. Perhaps Dinner Theatre instead...?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Barnett, 26, was taken into custody for battery after allegedly being involved in a physical altercation about 2 a.m. at the Wet nightclub, according to a police statement. He was taken to Outagamie County Jail in Appleton and released within an hour after posting a $500 cash bond.

Barnett appeared for a charity softball event later Sunday, participating in a preliminary game involving Packers players and sponsors. But he left the field before the regular game and didn't return.

              He was unavailable for comment.

In a statement issued after the game, the team said, "We are aware of the incident in Appleton involving Nick Barnett. The Packers organization is going to defer further comment until we have had a chance to speak with Nick and gather more facts."

Barnett is in his fifth year with the Packers, who selected him in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2003. Barnett has been the team's starting middle linebacker since his rookie season.

The Packers rewarded Barnett with a six-year, $34.85 million contract extension in April.

His arrest comes in the midst of the Packers' organized team activities. The voluntary workouts, which started May 30, resume Monday and end Tuesday.

"It's unfortunate," said veteran long snapper Rob Davis, who played in the softball game. "Nick's a good kid. He's been a damn good player for us. I'm just going to wait until the facts come out. I'm not going to think about it."

Our local NBC station reported that the incident involved Barnett shoving a girl at the nightclub. They then tried going to his house yesterday but nobody came to the door. Also tried calling his agent, who had no comment.

I will reserve my judgment until the facts come out about what happened.

The guy's a knob... always has been.

I'd imagine this will blow over w/o ramification, but the guy is still an immature knob.

Nightclubs and stiripclubs after midnight are factors in about 90% of the problems with players in the NFL (and maybe a lot of people's problems).

Stay away from those places after midnight. You turn into an abusive pumpkin after that.

It's not an excuse, certainly, but a reason. If you're drinking and past reason and are a big dude like Barnett, it's too late. He needed to game plan before he set foot in there. If he must go to places like that, don't drink and become agitated. Otherwise, hell, you're rich, just rent out a boat...wait, that didn't work too well for the Vikings...ok, just stay home and watch TV Land.

I'm sure Barnett's bathroom at home is more luxurious than whatever this dive was. He needs to learn to stay home and just hang out with friends...the alcohol is cheaper, there are fewer assholes hanging around and the cops aren't nearly as likely to get involved.

Anyone with the $$$ and fame of Barnett should not be hanging out at any NE WI club after midnight. It is one thing to hang out in a VIP booth at a place that caters to celebrities (i.e. looks out for them) but it is quite another to hang out in some middle class club. There are too many idiots in the world looking to start a fight or make a name for themselves at those places...especially at that hour.
